Gothic 1 - LangPack — provides multi-language support for the first Gothic game and is specifically tailored to the Steam version, although it should work with other versions as well.


Detailed description:
The current version of "Latin" provides localization for the following languages:

The basic version of Latin:

[Bild: IT.gif] Italian — Partial localization | Interface (eng), Text and Subtitles, Speech (eng), Video (eng+subtitles).

[Bild: PL.gif] Polish — Complete localization | Interface, Text and Subtitles, Speech, Video.

Note:
• It is only possible to install one language at a time.

• The installation process might take a long time since during it most of the game files are being changed. Eventually you will find the following files in the game's directory "..\Gothic\Data":
  anims.VDF
  fonts.VDF
  meshes.VDF
  sound.VDF
  speech.VDF
  textures.VDF
  worlds.VDF
  — all other files in it will be deleted.

When you uninstall the package, these files will not be deleted (!)

General recommendations:
— Install and start all applications with admin rights.
— If possible, use a “clear” install (without other mods or patches installed) when installing the package.

Could someone please provide another download link? Because "To download files larger than 1GB, please install our browser extension." and I don't want to install some browser extension I don't [trust] actually use.

I like the idea of this LangPack. All it's missing is the Portuguese edition. If someone will ever manage to find it on some dusty CDs, it will be a great addition.

French, yes, I didn't see it wasn't included. Beside the French patch from the wog.com, I found Meuhoua's patch to be a nice one. I couldn't find a working download link for V.1.0.F bricolé, I have only V.2.b.55 which is in fact also a mod.
So it's up to you what French translation to use...

As for the Chinese edition, I am curious if the Chinese characters will be corectly displayed, because in my experience...

I don't understand what's the point of this MOD... I mean, if someone wants to translate G1 into another language, there are related patches that simply translate can do it. Why would someone download 1.64 GB only in order to translate G1 once language at time?

Nachdem ich Tagelang versucht habe, die Gothic Spiele zu installieren, weil ich ein neues System habe konnte ich nur noch die englische Version spielen. Mein Englisch ist im Netz zwar besser geworden, aber nicht so gut, das ich ein ganzes Spiel auf Englisch spielen kann. Ich will mich nur bei Euch bedanken, für alle Eure Mühe, Probleme die sich beim installieren ergeben zu lösen.

PS: Ich glaube ich habe die Lösung für Installationsprobleme gefunden. Alle Redistributable von 2005 - 2013 installieren. Eventuell alle Frameworks. Auf jeden Fall wohl die MPEG 2 Dateien, damit man diese entsprechenden Videos schauen kann. Ich hatte mein System neu machen müssen, und obwohl es vorher nicht installierbar ohne die beiden anderen Dateien, playerkid zum Beispiel. konnte ich sie gestern beide installieren. Wollte das hier nur mal mitteilen. Vielleicht hilft es dem einen oder anderen.
