Wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured that if anyone would care about it it's the people on this forum.

A friend of mine and I extracted this image from the demo using a direct x ripper. It appears to be all the icons in that the game uses, in one nice giant spritesheet.

Using it we can make some predictions about what will be in the game itself - For example it seems as though there are only 5 runes, with what seems to be a normal and more powerful version of each.

We can also get a feel for the different kinds of weapons that will be available, and the selection of armors and shields we can choose from. I've counted over 20 different types of swords, let alone magic weapons (at the bottom) or axes, bows, etc. Have a look for yourself and share your theories here!

And again another thing about ArcaniA...the icons, are too colorful..
Also the arrows ?!? how many types of arrows are in there lol, too few swords and too similar by the looks of the icon, now looking at Gothic 1, 2 and 3, both had lots of different swords with different models of the blade.
At least some incons look good like these of health mana etc...
The runes are very different as well..looking at the runes from gothic2 which had the look of "an old and ancient rune of magic" these runes in Arcania look like some power ups from a happy game like Mario for example. Too colorful.

Just look how the runes are in Gothic 2 ..see the differences I mean..

Why shouldn't there be? At least it isn't used as the icon for the .exe file(according to the demo), it is is used to notify you when you get exp, it still says " something something bla +??? xp" but there is also that head in front of the text.

I don't think it's the same rune magic, in the demo you only find a rune for faster running and is has a cooldown, so I guess it's more like a potion or some sort of pocket ritual than the rune magic from G1&2.

Actually, in Gothic 3 we do find out what happened to the rune magic...

Xardas says that he put the combined magic of the runes in the focus stone, which at the end of the game you use to either destroy the artifacts of Adanos or decide for one of the gods. So it can be assumed that with the destruction of the focus stone, the contained magic was released and rune magic was restored.

It could be different rune magic because not all rune magic, for instance teleportation rune magic, was absorbed in the focus stone. So, it is possible that the focus stone couldn't affect far away places like Khorinis or Feshyr.

Yes but the original ending of G3 is by destroying the focus, that could cause rune magic to dissapear forever, it could be considered given by the gods.

Ten years since that, one would belive they would've found a way to capture magic of the ancients into rune stones, or some other explanation. Guess we'll never know.

Semantically speaking, I believe this can still be considered a list - think of unordered lists often used for site navigation. A list, I imagine, can be defined as a finite sequence of elements arranged in some order, arbitrary or otherwise. So wouldn't a grid of icons suffice to satisfy those conditions? Perhaps, perhaps not - that's probably just me being a bit pedantic :P

The main difference between our posts is that this all of the items available in the entire retail game, not just the demo. I haven't found any data tables that have the items names/stats/etc, but this is all of the icons that the game will use. This was my way of filling the void until Arcania actually comes out - even if I don't fully recognize it as Gothic 4, I still think it'll be a good game. I didn't see the entertainment value in cataloging items I've already seen in the demo, but it's a nice idea and our combined efforts could easily be the basis upon which WoG's item database it built on

However, I'm generally a pretty busy person so I'm afraid you'll have to split up the images on your own. You're welcome to do that, just do me a favor and give me credit for the original image/extraction process

Splitting the images is no good idea if you know what I mean:
1. Right click your image.
2. Select 'show image'. (or something like the same)
3. Press 'ctrl', and scroll forwards with your mouse.
4. Zoom in untill you get what I mean.

EDIT: I mean if that is supposed to be you're picture,it's too small.
Or If you zoom further in it will be so worse people don't even look.

So you wanna say, that gothic 4 is bad? You aren't a single one with that opinion. But i don't know why you think arcania is bad... I have played risen and gothic 3. So now, i've started playin' arcania,and i think it's a real jewel... The grafics are absolutely super...
