    Gothic 2 notr mastering weapons

I've finished gothic 2 several times but never really payed much attention some of the things about weapons, but now i do so i've got a few questions.

    1. what does upgrading skill in bow and crossbow do? does it also increases the max range you can shoot from?

    2. same question for 1,2 handed weapons.

    3. The trainers keep talking about upgrading 1,2 handed because it's less " exhausting" what does that means and how exactly does it work?

    4. same question for bows and crossbows.

1.: The higher the skill, the higher is the chance to hit an aim from a higher distance.
Furthermore the rate of fire will increase, when you reach a new "skill-step". Means marksman (30%) and master (60%):
Beginner: Bow - 48 shoots per minute, crossbow - 43 shoots per minute
Marksman.: Bow - 51 shoots per minute, crossbow - 46 shoots per minute
Master: Bow - 59 shoots per minute, crossbow - 57 shoots per minute
In contrast to the melee weapon skills, every hit is a critical one

2.: Here the skills cause the chance to do a critical hit.
So, if you have 70% one-hand-skill, you have a 70%-chance to do a critical hit with a one handed weapon.
Otherwise you do a normal hit, which does only one tenth of the damage cause by a critical one.

Calcualtion for the damage for close combat fight:
    Critical hit:
Damage of the weapon + your current strength value - value of the enemie's armor against the used kind of weapon (edge or blunt) = total damage

    Normal hit:
(Damage of the weapon + your current strength value - value of the enemie's armor against the used kind of weapon (edge or blunt) - 1 )/ 10 = total damage
But you will make a minimum damage of 5, even if the value of the enemie's armor is higher than the total damage.
(This also applies for long range combat.)

Furthermore you will be able to fight faster and do a longer combo, if you reach a new "step-skill". Means fighter (30%) and master (60%)

    Yes, that's right.
And this the main reason for the melee skills.

so basically mellee (2h or 1H) + lots of strenght and some ic block/ wawe scrolls = imba hero...

itried that once, i was a mage, and entered just third circle of magic to make an ice block rune - i got mana from praying and potions and all other LPs were used in 2H mastery and strenght. that was serious ownage, even when i got holy arrow rune with that ice block exploit...
