Arrived to Vengard castle - Abe and Vandorn already dead

Hey, playing Gothic 3 for the first time ever now with the CP 1.71, and totally loving it!

However, I recently fought my way through the hordes of orcs and into the castle of Vengard. When I arrived I discovered that everyone in the outer courtyard - excluding Cobryn - was dead. I reckon the orc group closest to the castle attacked them (I only found their commander alone in the nearby house).

Unfortunately the dead included the quest givers Abe and Vandorn, so now it seems I've been carrying the crap they wanted all this time for nothing. I used the spawn command and got them breathing again, and indeed they have the initial dialogue regarding their quests, but I have no dialogue option to accept those quests (I can only ask them to trade or end the discussion).

I noticed another recent thread about respawning quest npc's, but that was about quests already failed. So is it somehow possible to trigger the quests you haven't received yet, or am I out of luck?

Probably out of luck. Did you respawn the NPCs? or just revived them? In marvin mode you can go to an NPC push O and take possesion of it, then you can hit F8 and the NPC is revived, then back to your body. As far as I know if you revive them then the quests trigger just fine, if you re-spawn them though, it might get troublesome. Well at least that's how it is on the older Gothic games, not totally sure with Gothic3.
