This could quickly become a terrible flame war... sorry if it gets messy. I LOVE gothic3. It is a very good game. So good, I want to move to Myrtana to live by the seashore. But having played Gothic3 a lot, I felt the need for another RPG to play so I picked up Two Worlds. It is CRAP!

It is like playing with action figures. It is a terrible waste of time. What do you think?

G3 is definitely better, but I actually liked Two Worlds. It is a mindless RPG, but rather entertaining. I finished it twice - as a warrior, and as a mage. I got a really good sword in the middle of the game, and it was just fun to hack all these monsters. BTW, I liked it more then Oblivion. Now I am waiting for Two Worlds:Temptation.

Played Two Worlds for about 20 minutes. First impression was just horrid. The combat system is basicly just hack and slash and the combat animation was just idiotic.
Who the hell fights like that with a broadsword or an axe. If it was a more martial arts type of game i would have got it, but keep that away from medieval style games.

But i played it when i got released. So i do not know how it is now with patches and such. Am thinking on maybe givving it a try again.

G2 > G1 > G3 > Oblivion > Two Worlds

There are lots of other RPGs between these. But G2 will reign as the best for a long time. Though of what i have seen of Risen. It might lose its place.
I just hope the next elder scrolls will become more of a improved morrowind than the awfull Oblivion. Yes it was great at first, but when you get that everything is scaled with level. The game turns into a FPS action game. Full level Scalling = worst gaming idea ever.

But this year and those comming will be great for RPGs. A list of those i know about.

Risen, Arcania (Gothic 4), Divine Divinity 2, Dungeon Hero, Diablo 3, Alpha Protocol. Mass Effect 2

And probably even more good ones comming this year or the next.

RPGs i could recomend now other than the Gothic series are of course Fable 1-2, Fallout 1-3, The witcher, Baldurs Gate 1-2, Mass effect, Kotor 1-2, Morrowind, Jade Empire (great story, mediocre gameplay). Tons of very good RPGs. Though i have a more distinct love for the Gothic series an style.
