Hi,

Today we present you as a small Christmas present the Community Patch 1.5.2, which will turn off the copy protection of Gothic 3,
the Community Patch 1.5.2 is constructively equal to every other community patch of the 1.5 series.



Changes for Community Patch 1.5.2:

• - Deactivation of the copy protection

Requirements:

The Community Patch 1.5.2 requires an original Gothic-3-Installation with the official patch 1.12 (Download) or a Community Patch of the 1.5 series

The file which contains the gametexts.



Installation:

The Community Patch comes with the by now well known comfortable installer, such that this time it automatically uninstalls the previous CPs and then also automatically installs the CP 1.5.2

More information and support can be found in the „Readme“-file of the patch.

Be aware that certain changes will only take effect after starting a new game and also that possibly present gothic 3 modifications could lead to problems. Therefore it is recommended to remove these before a new game or the installation respectively. The same counts for any backups in the Gothic 3 directory.


Note:
this is an unofficial patch by fans for fans. Other bugs and problems might possibly appear by the use of such patches. Hence, the installation occurs, as usual, on your own responsibility!

In the case of unexpected errors during the installation try the following recommended tips:

- Uninstall Gothic 3
- Delete the installation folder(s)
- Install the game anew
- Install the official patch 1.12

It seems to me that my Gothic 3 crashes more often, due to memory issues, since installing the last Fan Patch. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hmmm... I didn't played long with 1.5.2, but so far nothing wrong. What errors do you get, exactly?

After half an hour, or so, the game shuts down with an error message. If I play for a while, then loads a saved game (say, because I died), the game shuts down with the message that there's no more virtual memory.

Any ideas so far?

Other that a reinstall I don't know... I hope you have enough virtual memory.
And how much RAM do you have? What windows? XP, Vista, 32, 64?

Somebody had a similar problem with loading and crashing with virtual memory problems, but it wasn't with CP 1.5.2 and it was only after many loaded savegames.

I've got 2gb RAM. WinXP 32. Sapphire Radeon 1950Pro 512mb.


EDIT: About that other guy, I believe we have the same problem. Before the 1.5 patch, I could play for hours without any problem. But now, the game crashes every now and then (~30 mins), and almost everytime I reload a game after having died.

after the simple cp1.5 installation the same problem.

and then i changed all the the ge3.ini language settings to English at the end.
The cp 1.52 starts and install the patch. But the game now dont want to run.

Please help.

Yes.
After a complett reinstallation of the game and the 1.12 patch the game ran but with the english settings only and all the text was gone. The menu and all other texts too so i reinstalled one more time and applied only the simple cp1.5 , it works well but i still want the 1.52 to work.

If you have any ideas please help me.

CP 1.5.2 needs patch 1.12 to be installed. Probably you'll find the bugs later, if you didn't applied 1.12 before 1.5.2.

But in your case, it looks like the official patch 1.12 is screwing your language options, not the community patch.

Did you changed the language options only in G3 install folder\data\ge3.ini or also in My Documents\gothic3\UserOptions.ini ?

I tried all the combinations. As i see only the ge3.ini is important for the cp 1.5 installer. Untill now i played the game with only the 1.12 in hungarian language (works fine), then today tried to install the cp 1.52.

Your problem is that you downloaded the first release version of 1.52 which did not include the MS C++ Redistributable Update. You may either download the patch again which now includes these necessary files or install this package directly:

This should help starting the game again.

I asked them but no one answered yet. I think it works for them because i dont find any writings about not working.

Edit:
I got some answers. Definetly there is a problem with the installer. Some guy said that it didnt worked too. We think that it had made for the german version of the game because if i change the language to english in the ini then under xpsp2(x86) the installer is in german language and the error message is german too if i dont change the ini to english (fehlerhafte spracheinstellung ""). Under xp64 and vista64 the error message is english.

If somebody can send me or share the hungarian changefiles without the installer (i mean the files that the installer installs) , i can try if it working or not.

I could extract the contents of the installer with Uniextract 1.6beta and an updated innounp.exe (search for them on the net)

please open your g3.ini scroll to the end, there you will find the language setting.

After our Information the Hungarian - g3.ini should look like this:

The file has been fixed, it should be compatible now.
