Installation:
Extract the folders into this path: _compiledImage
in Gothic 3 data folder.
THE CHANGES I HAVE DONE...
I have changed the folowing textures in G3.
1) Heros head texture. ( improved the texture of his face, changed his hair, his beard and added a new scar to his left chick.)
2) The texture for rebel armor. (now it looks bit different from the one of Orcs mercenaries armor and better IMO)
3) The textures for paladins armor...(you will love it...i hope)
4) The first paladins helmet
5) The Orc elites armors ( Updated )
Warning...
The things i have only changed are the textures and the normal maps...Unfortunately we cant change yet the models...
If you dont like my mod simply delete the folder from your G3/data.
Also if you will find something that you dont like or a problem or whatever dont start screaming on me...
"why this and why that"...Just inform me about whats wrong...
My mod is tested in my PC and it works fine...
I hope you like it, and tell me your opinion...
Download the *pak file here (Updated)....

OMG!!! IT'S AWESOME. Especially the white paladins armor! The rebels armor looks much better but i still hate it not because of the texture but because of the 3d model. Hero's face looks pretty cool (i always thought that a scar would make him better) . Nice work. Hope we'll see more! Also by the way which tool did you used in photoshop for the scar cuz i like it much!

Yepp, they are working, and btw,... they're looking cool, good work, keep it up!
Only the same hints i already gave to Mikael Grizzly:
 Zitat von WernerTWC
For the armor: Could you post before/after screenshots, please?
For the tweak: Could you make it compatible for the Gothic3 Starter Beta? It's much more comfortable, especially when you run many tweaks.
 Zitat von WernerTWC
No problem, just download and install the g3-starter, start to see how it looks and works, then take a look in the modifications folder (in your g3 folder).
I think you can figure the most out just by checking that folders and files in it.
And for a how-to create a *pak-file, click this:

Feel free to ask more if it's needed.
If you have problems with paking the files as a *pak, other users or i can pak the files for you, but i recommend to at least try it, it's not difficult.
And the screenshots included in the *.rar file doesn't work for me,... i cannot open them, error message: "Can't read file header / Unkown file format."

Thanx. I am glad you like my work...

Paking the files as a *pak??? Why is that for? Oh, you mean in order to put it into the G3 starter?
I tried but i cant really figure out all the nessesary steps in order to pak it...
i lost my way somewere during the command lines...LOL ( i know i am not good at these things )
Ehm...well, can you please do that for me? I would apreciate that.

What? But they are Jpeg format. Tried to open them with windows picture viewer? If still doesnt works, inform me please to change this...But they are the same screenshots i posted in this thread...same file format

There are some probs, you placed in the folder \Data\_compiledImage\animation those files:
G3_Human_RebMercenary_Body_normal_S3.tga
G3_Armor_Helm_Myrtana_02_Diffuse_S1.tga
G3_Armor_Helm_Myrtana_02_normal_S1.tga
You would have to place them first in the correct folder in order that the game reconize them.
What? But they are Jpeg format. Tried to open them with windows picture viewer? If still doesnt works, inform me please to change this...But they are the same screenshots i posted in this thread...same file format
The filenames were the prob, if you rename them all is fine (that "μμ" in the filename is problematic).

Again a silly question of mine...What correct folder? Isnt the "animation" folder the one that the textures should be placed into?

I think i changed that now...changed the previews rar with a new one. I only changed inside the names of the screenshots...i hope it is fixed now...
Soon screenshots of before and after are coming just w8. It takes too much time to load a savegame of G3

Just updated...
I made some before screenshots...see above ^ and compare them. Now the changes i have done seem better...
Dudes i am making the orc elites armor now
It is perfect!!! Never expected to achieve that...
I 'll post it here in some hours once i will finish it...
Edit: Ok. I added new screens of the orcs elite armors i have made...and updated the rar file with the changes...

When i open the pak file (_compiledImage.pak) and check it with the g3explorer these files are not listed in the animation folder,... from what folder you extracted them (where exactly you found those 3 files?)?
Also it seems that the engine recompiles the *tga files you made back to the original *ximg format,... in other words, the game (when you start a new or saved game/or maybe when you actually use/put the armor on) it creates those *ximg files,... check your own animation folder (in the g3 game folder),... there should also for you have suddenly appeared some new files you didn't created.... so that means that the game used only the files which are converted to ximg, every *tga which has not a duplicate of it's own as *ximg wasn't used.

Oh shit you are right...my bad!!! Now i see that too. I exported the helmet from another folder named "items" and not animation...But how the F*** still works? Instead of puting the changed file it into the items folder, i put it into the animation one...LOL and it works...

You are damn well right. Thats why i was confused...The engine automaticaly created the *ximg files and i thought that i extracted it from there!!!
Oh, thats why it works...clever engine no???
By the way is there a problem that i didnt put these 3 files into the correct path? I mean that they dont work to you? or just it is only about the starter?
Because if there is not working tell me to change that...
Thanx for your effort by the way,
EDIT: About the "G3_Human_RebMercenary_Body_normal_S3.tga" i didnt extracted that at all...There wasnt any *ximg file for that from the beginning... I just saw there wasnt any normal map(strange by the way) and i made one of my own...
Anyways, have you seen my Orcs elite armor?
i put it into my original modification folder together with the other ones...now it is about 12 MB....
I will post it seperately if someone wants to use it...

Oh, Sorry for double posting Werner but if i 'll put everything in 1 post it is gonna be like a messy massive post...
The Orcs elite armors files are already into the original folder(updated)...but for the lazy ones, i seperated them into a second folder if you want to use them seperately
download it here

Can u expayn to me how to instal you textures cuz i dont know how to open that compileimage thing .

DAMN BAR, I CAN'T REACH IT!
-
 Zitat von diego_pmc
extract the archive u find here-there is a new folder appeared "animation" move or copy that folder into ur gothic3/data/_compiledimage/ folder and that's all
BTW u should make it esyer to install -so that we nedd to extract them in g3 folder and them to ge automaticly in the _compliedImage folder
I asumed that you have already extracted G3 _compiledImage folder into your Gothic 3 Data directory...If you will do that, _compiledImage folder will automaticaly apear and inside, you will find the animation folder in witch you have to put the tga files...Simple No?
It is just a copy paste job...Whats so hard in it?

Well thats the problem there is no _compileimage folder in my data folder just a PAK file named _compileimage, thats the problem.

DAMN BAR, I CAN'T REACH IT!
