magic how do you learn it from the beginning
Hi,
I just got gothic 3 today and was wondering how i learn magic. Ive found 2 of the shrines so far but every spell i try to learn it says i dont have the pre reqs. Where do i get my first bit of ancient knowledge from? thanks

There is a firemage in nearby rebel camp. You will have to deliver him 10 or was 12 healing plants. After doing so, he will teach you ancient knowledge. Each spell in g3 requires certain amount of AK.
you can learn most of the innos spells from innos shrines and most of the beliar spells from the beliar shrines. Adanos spells can only be learned from the druids and the water mages.
Also remember that when your AK grows the power of each spell grows too.
So lets take an example.
A fireball requires 50 ak just to be able to launch it. However when you learn more ak, your fireball spell will become more powerfull as well. So there is huge difference with a caster who has 50 ak and a caster who has 250 :-)

Hi all ,
I have some question, i have seen 1 ending of the game, i was playing more like a good warrior and a weaker mage ... .
In the mean time i have started a new game and i would love to play a godlike mage now, @ the moment i am not spending anny learning points, wanna spend all my points in spells /ancient knowledge, but there is one big prob, the rebel's (for exampl :fire mages) have much ancient knowledge, but i wanna work for beliar this time, it seems that the rebels /firemages/watermages, the good guys have better magic then the bad guys for exampl : The easy but powerfull Fireball.
Are am i wrong?
offtopic: I am not gonna start a new topic for this Question...
I'll have 1280 MB DDR 400 RAM now, wanna upgrade to 2 GB RAM, can some peeps tell me if it gonna make a huge difference, performance boost are something?
@ the moment it keeps stuttering, its not rly fun to play like that, you know...
(i have done all the ini tweaks).
System:
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 3200 +
MOBO : MSI K8T Neo
RAM : 1280 MB DDR (400) RAM
GPU : NX 7800 GS MSI 256 MB DDR AGP
POWER SUPLIE : a good one no wories
Thanks in Advance
Angelo

Hi Angelo and §welcome to the forum!
The easy but (very ^^ ) powerful fireball you can learn, like many spells very early in the game, ... the choosing of the path you go is later in the game.... and if it becomes necessary, you can beat the game with the fireball.

Well, it will make a difference, just don't expect a "wonder",... it will run better,... but not "perfect", ... anyway, i think 2GB RAM is something you'll need also for other games in the future, Oblivion runs for me also better with 2 GB`s.
