Name Color
I've noticed that creatures' and peoples' names vary in color from deep red to orange to a light-brownish to green. Does this mean anything?
For instance, on the "rid the east exit of monsters" mission in Reddock, I noticed the Cave Goblins had red names, and they went down fairly easily. The Lizards, however, had orange names and were a tough nut to crack. So I thought maybe deeper shades of red meant easier monsters.
That is, until I met the Minecrawler. With a name the hue of arterial blood, it took no more than the blink of an eye and 2 jabs with its claws to put me to sleep. So much for "deeper shades of red = easier monster".
I also noticed that people like Norris and Copper suddenly got green names. Is this at all significant, or is it just to mess with my head?

I dont own the game yet but maybe it means their allegiance towards you? Like if you are Pro-human, most Orcs would be red?

Its their allegiance. Green is friendly, and while orange says it might attack you on sight.
Also if your caught in a fight with a green name NPC, you probably wont get killed. But if he hates you (red name) then you might get killed.

white - neutral. Slaves are always white. Some friends (or arena fighters) turn white when you hit them once. If you hit them twice, they'll turn red and attack you.
red - aggressive
green - friendly
blue - will follow and help you until you send them away
orange - will try to eat you but doesn't bear a personal grudge against you / arena fighter after you made him eat sand.

cool, cheers
