    Gothic 3, without CP?

I've sent an email to GOG requesting Gothic 3 download without the CP. No idea how or if this will happen but if I get a link I'll post it here, in case anyone else is interested.

I doubt that GOG can help you. I don't know since which year GOG is selling Gothic 3, but I bet that they started at least to sell Gothic 3 with the CP 1.6. Now it should be CP 1.74? Or wait a second. I remember a discussion, that unfortunately CP 1.74 will not be added to the Steam/GOG versions due to save game incompatibility. So have you already tried to install the newest Community Patch? Maybe this resolves your problem.

Maybe our technical help forum can help you: https://forum.worldofplayers.de/foru...chnische-Hilfe

Thanks for the reply. The CP seems to be part of GOG version, haven't check Steam version yet. Here's the file name I downloaded within the last week or two.
    setup_gothic_3_1.75.14l_(21829)

They must have an version without CP, shouldn't they? I just hope they will let me download it. I wouldn't mind using CP, but not if it breaks the console commands. Those are too important in a Gothic game. The Gothic games are brilliant by design but I couldn't have enjoyed them without the console to fix problems over the last 18 years. The CP is not without it's problems besides the console issue. It's basically an 'All or Nothing' kind of patch, with 2 on/off switches AI and Balance. I don't mean to sound ungrateful for all the hard work in CP but a functioning console seems mandatory. I have no idea how to contact the CP team or if they are even still working on the patch. This could be a know error or there could be a fix.

I would much prefer an Unofficial Patch with choice between just fixes and augmentations, much the way Bloodlines is handled. I've been testing and helping with Bloodlines Unofficial Patch since the game release in 2004. When it was started by dan_upright and now Wesp for the last 12+ years.

It is entirely new to me, that the CP would break the console. Have you read the .ini if the console is enabled? Also the Marvin cheat to activate the console doesn't alwasy works on first try.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the console is active and I didn't mean to make it sound completely broken, maybe my bad translation.

It doesn't seem to be working properly, I can't revive a dead NPC. This 'inhabit' function, then pressing F8 has worked in the past (Gothic, Gothi2 II NotR and Gothic 3) without CP but not working now. Also, not being able to get back to the PC, without manually typing 'control PC_Hero' is odd. I can't seem to download Gothic 3 without the CP being forced into my install. I just deleted my GOG version and downloaded Steam. Steam is apparently version 1.6 installed, where GOG was 1.75. Sadly I can't test it without CP, well unless I install from my original disks. As I mentioned, this is not meant as anything against all the hard work for the CP. It would be nice to be asked before external content is added to our purchased game.

I'll try to work some more with the Steam version.

Well, for the publisher the CP isn't a external patch, I don't know anymore since which version that is the case (maybe 1.6), but the publishers declared the later patches of the CPT to legitime, official patches for the game, because of this newer verions of Gothic 3 get distributed with the patches on default.

The CPT also got some kind of compensation for their work, for the later patches because of this.

Sorry I can't help you with your particular problem.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll try the original disks, when I get time.
