    Eurogamer.de reviews Gothic 3(retail version)

    Taken from gothic.rpgdot.com:

The press embargo ends today, so expect reviews to appear all over the place soon. Eurogamer.de is the first site to publish a German language review of the retail version - without the patch announced for the release day.
They say they didn´t find a single A-bug but a lot of smaller issues, which lead to the deduction of 1 point. The game itself is as good, deep and addictive as everybody expected, which makes it Oblivion´s successor on the RPG throne. Rating: 9/10.

Other German sites posted more material: A new gameplay video has been posted on Gameswelt. It shows a lot of so far unknown locations, so beware of spoilers.
    PC Games uploaded 23 new high-res screenshots in 2048 x 1536.

This will perhaps relieve some of the fears with buggy games people have been getting? There's no mention of major bugs people discuss on these forums at all. And that's without the retail patch. I plan the game to be pretty bug-clean with patch released.

Piranha Bytes ARENT n00bs! Have faith people damn it.

    Soo..
    Wait...
They accually gave Oblivion a better score?!

I can't see what people find so great "rpg" about oblivion. Not every bit of text in it is spoken, the dialoge there is wiki style, and the main story is laughable.

Anyways, if it wasn't for the bugs in the retail version, it would've indeed totaly kicked oblivion back into the hole it came from.

I've played a few TES and the're not even this close to gothic performance, but the American puplic is the most important gaming public of all, and their oppinion matters a lot, and since gothic isn't American style(great hero from the begining, chosen, loved by all, the only capable of doing something, and ultimate boss, blah, blah boring American style). That's Y Oblivion is better in the mark, but the game matters so...
A very crude generalization here, comrade. American public is more varied than you like to think, and I can assure you - there are many people out there, just like you and me, who think Oblivion is a waste of money and certainly not a real CRPG, but more of an arcade/adventure/Sims kind of game for 14-year olds mostly.
And always remember that some of the best true CRPGs tha tev er existed were made in USA/Canada -- Arcanum, Fallout, Prelude to Darkness, Baldur's Gate, and many others, including indies (in fact, PtD is an indie heh).

(disclaimer: I'm not american myself, but a more-or-less unbiased observer from across the atlantic)

I AM American and i find it insulting that people think all American's or ANY countries think alike, the Gothic series is my favorite series of all time, hands down. and i wish people would think in game terms instead of country terms.

Thank you! That's exactly what all my posts have been trying to convey but no one here on this forum ever understands.

Ok, so what you're saying is that everyone on this forum is generalizing others? Kinda digging your own grave there I think.

Btw, I'v defended people against generalization tons of time before, until I understood that some people (not all) wouldn't see it any other way then their own, and it just felt like a waste of time...
