G3: FG Enhanced Edition First Impressions
Have not bought the game yet, but the changelog for the MV patch looks pretty extensive, so it looks worth getting.
Could some of you that have started playing the Enhanced Ed give any feedback on the feel of the game now that it has seen a decent patch.

This is my first time playing any gothic game and it seems pretty cool so far.
However I do get a little bit of stuttering even on my really good PC.
It seems to go away though once ive moved the camera around or have been in the area long enough.
Like taking out my torch drops the fps to 1 for a few seconds then it picks up and its all smooth again mostly allways at 60fps with everything maxed.

6gig ram
3.8ghz quad core

When I'm near Trelis it says Where is the guru.
When I had Forsaken Gods with Patch 1.08 near Trelis worked fine without the "where is the guru".
And I have a powerfull computer with 4GB RAM.
Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition is not complete it still need work.
I am a little disapointment.

It is reproducible, it is always the same fixed location?

For the first time there is stuttering if you enter new area or look around but the second time like you already mentioned the stuttering is gone away.

Did you try to re-download the installer?

It's on the original DVD although I was thinking of buying the bundle from Steam

Ach so. We can call the DVD... JoWooded then, I suppose?

Normally the exact same position should be in the original game because it also based on the CP 1.6. And there is already such position which can't be solved (see readme --> known issue).

Try to copy the DVD on your harddisk and try to install from there.
If it doesn't work then probably you have to buy a new Forsaken Gods version.

Could you provide a savegame and a screenshot of the location?

It doesn't happen always, only sometimes.
It happens at the entrance in the village of Trelis where the temple is.
And I don't know how to put a screenshot here.

Any feedback on gameplay, or is the game still unplayable?
-
Definitely playable, and actually runs much smoother than G3 for me.However, the team wanted to reveal the true potential of the game (that is,focus on bugs rather than changing gameplay a lot),so there are still many fetch quests and the hero still has that "You don't want to fight? You should not call yourself a hero!" attitude. But that's part of the game itself.I just wanted to be actually able to finish it !

Maybe gameplay was a poor choice of words, I just wanted to know how the game technically wieghs up against the original. Can we actually now complete the game without jumping through very specific hoops. In other words have the gamebreaking bugs been squashed, and is it worth it to get the game and download the massive patch on a 384kbps line.
Its a pity NH is still a douch.

Technically it's work as good as g3 with the actuall CP1.74, maybe a bit better.
Quest and dialog bugs should be gone completly.

I still find the combat system a bit annoying, not because of the enemies with neverending combat chains, but because of the dodging thing which is activated by pressing w/a/s/d twice quickly. The problem is,I tend to walk around an enemy by pressing these buttons repeatedly,so the dodge always activates, draining stamina and losing momentum

My First Impressions of Gothis 3: FG
I must say that I am quite impressed so far. The start of the game was a bit rough with stutter, but now that I am on my way things are going strong with good smooth play. I understand this has to do with the changes made in the way the engine cache and loads data. I love the fact that this is a "TRUE RPG PC GAME". The passion to fix this game is astounding and I am loving every minute of it. Looks great on my 42" plasma So glad this is for the PC and not some dumbed down console garbage. I bought my copy off of steam a few days ago. I went through my game collection and found a dust filled copy of the original Gothic 3. Installed that and patched up to the latest community patch and I am now hooked to that! I'll move on to FG after I have finished the original G3. I think those late game nights are creeping in again
Kudos to Trine Studios, G3 Community Patch Team and Mad Vulture Games for this fix. There aren't too many PC games of this type anymore. I bought Arcania for $12.50 and has turned to be a waste of my money. The ironic part is I got FG for $2.50! Anyone deliberating to purchase this, go for it. It's selling for $9.99 on steam and is worth it. RPG goodness at it's best. That is my two cents.....
Cheers,
Stryker

Thanks for the positive feedback. And I'm willing to share compliments. But we must admit that Trine Games was not involved in this patch. Instead, the UnP team was of help in several ways.
