Whenever I try to install the game, as soon as I click next on the step where you choose a destination folder, it tells me to choose a folder to install the game in. I've tried multiple locations to install the patch to but nothing seems to be working. Can someone help me out?

I'm also having a problem just starting regular G3. Whenever I try to start the game, it comes up with the message:

Error while starting game executable-couldn't load DLL file ?getCPUusage@system@FMOD@@QAG?AW4FMOD_RESULT@@PAM000@Z.

And this is after installing 1.74 and the 1.12 patch.

Give us more details about your system (what operating system, what video card, how much RAM, stuff like that). A dxdiag report file would also help.

OS: Windows 7 64bit
RAM: 4 GB
Video Card: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50GHz

Win 7... hmm... for Forsaken Gods, try to launch the setup with "Run as Administrator", maybe also disable UAC while you install it, maybe compatibility mode to "XP".

For G3... that FMOD in the error makes me think about the audio part of the game. Do you have the latest drivers for your audio card? Maybe also play with hardware acceleration level in Control Panel.
You need only CP 1.74 since it already contains patch 1.12 and all others.
Also, did you tried to launch the game without the patch, see if it gives the same error?
Same tip as for FG, launch the installers and probably the game too with "Run as Administrator".

HUZZAH! Got it to work. I think the problem was that Windows deleted a few drivers when I first installed the game because they lacked a digital signature or something. I just remembered this, and reinstalled the game and now it works fine.

Why in gods name do you want to install G3 Forsaken Gods patch 1.0.4?
You should just wait for Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition if you want to play without bugs and perfect.
It should appear in about 2-3 months.
