Zitat von Philosophus
Life may have no meaning. Or even worse, it may have a meaning of which I disapprove.
by Ashleigh Brilliant
Translation: "I have failed to find any meaning to my own existence. Even worse, other people have found meaning to theirs, and it conflicts with what I was taught at UC Berkeley."

That's not really true, though. As an example, despite being born and raised in the relatively collectivist and egalitarian culture of social democratic Norway, with relatively left-wing friends and family, I identify roughly 0% with that type of culture, philosophy and politics. I got my hue and moral character from books (none of which were purchased in Norwegian bookstores), and through reasoning. Unthinking people who live their lives on autopilot, however, passively absorbs their philosophy from their physical environment.

When I was in prison I was wrapped up in all those deep books. That Tolstoy crap. People shouldn't read that stuff. When we read these books what purpose does it serve in this day and time?
by Mike Tyson
True; people shouldn't study philosophy and history, and they shouldn't learn to think for themselves. They should submit to the status quo, and shut their mouths. After all, what good has ever come from reasoning and philosophy?
I really don't think rapist thugs who get their skull bashed in for a living are the greatest sources of wisdom, as Tyson demonstrates here.
Incidentally, here's one of my favorite quotes by Robert Ingersoll:
"Surely there is grandeur in knowing that in the realm of thought, at least, you are without a chain; that you have the right to explore all heights and depths; that there are no walls nor fences, nor prohibited places, nor sacred corners in all the vast expanse of thought... "

I generally have a very green and healthy diet. For some reason though, playing the Gothic games give me an almost insatiable craving for meat (and beer). It's hard to explain exactly why, as that's hardly all the player character eats and drinks. Are anyone else experiencing this?
The introduction to my favorite tv-series also invokes this craving, though for far more understandable reasons.

I had a friend once who told me that the worst mistake that you can make is to think you are alive, when you're really asleep in life's waiting room. The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. 'Cause if you can do that you can do anything.
One facebook friend has that. It's awsm. Though I don't know where he found it
