[G3] Change NPC model
Hi, I have question about Gothic 3 modding. I just need to edit the NPC model, and I don't know how. I dont wanna make new NPC, just edit existing one (for example Diego).
I tryed to edit mod ("Lares Mod" - it's mod from this forum) and learn how to do it, but i still don't know.
I have following files in that mod: "Geldern_City_Lares.tple" and "HumanBodyParts_Body_Body_PeaTWC1.tple". I'm sure that "HumanBodyParts_Body_Body_PeaTWC1.tple" is NPC look (armor, skin, face, hair etc.), but I have no idea how to connect this file with any NPC, to change it model... I have edited "Geldern_City_Lares.tple" from mod, and orginal, same file from game with Template Editor, and you know what? Both files are perfectly SIMILAR (in all colums, in all values! like clones - orginal and moded files are jus the same), and its not possible, because when I use the file from mod, it really changes the Lares model to the new one... So which part of "Geldern_City_Lares.tple" should i edit, to connect it with the new look, for example "HumanBodyParts_Body_Body_PeaTWC1.tple"?
I tryed do the same with Hex Editor, I see differences between files, but they are really small, only single hexes, like 00 0B in one file and 00 6B and that really mean nothing... So i still don't know how to change NPC model.
In other words - I want to change Diego's wearing armor to (for example) Paladin or Xardas armor... Pls tell me how.
PLS - help me, I need it to my mod (I made some armor sets with completely new models, not only skins! New helmets, weapons, armors...).
PS. I don't know german, so I beg you, do it in english. If you help me, I promise that I'll post here my mod for exclusive ;]

Your questions not answered easily, ... try it with google translate and this tutorial, it is the step by step tut for exatcly that mod ("Lares Mod"):

Hmm, i don't understand anything, translator sux :/ I know how to clone the objects and give them new textures, but I still dont get, how to change NPC look... Maybe You can try write it in english? (because you are an author of the german tutorial)...? When I'm trying translate all this hexal instructions, translaotr is going crazy ;(

Correct.

In the Lares template, you must add +01 to the "Change time" entry, and change the inventory slot to the hash of the cloned body (HumanBodyParts_Body_Body_PeaTWC1.tple). -> Both via Hex-Editor.

Such "little" changes can really mean nothing, ... or all, ... like the change time value decides if the template will be loaded by the engine at all (without adding +01 to the changetime, the template will be ignored).
