Hi. As you well know, last month the NA version of Risen was released with mayor visual improvements. Today, we still dont have any information about those improvements coming to our European versions, even if last year an important patch via DLC was promised. The vast mayority of Piranha Bytes games fans are here, in Europe, so why do we have a clearly minor version of the game compared to the NA one?

Well, maybe they think that the effort isn't worth it. For that reason I have created an online petition, to show Piranha Bytes that European users really want those improvements.

I agree. I have both versions (I live in USA, and I bought a european version in december, region-free, from China). European version for me is virtually unplayable - too damn dark. New US version is VERY good. Well, some textures are stretched, but it is not a big deal. But graphics is terrific, with a lot of nice warm colors. Also it runs much better on my XBox then on PC - now I can react much faster and those mean wolves cannot bite me in the ass anymore. Now I am going to play Risen only on XBox.
But I am afraid that now there will be a mess with XBox version of Risen in Europe. People won't know what they are buying - a crappy old one, or a good new one. DS should distribute the patch as soon as possible. Well, they shouldn't have released an early version in the first place, but this ship has already sailed.

Actually, the petition should go to Deep Silver, not Piranha Bytes. Because, you see, PB made only the PC version and can only make changes to that. However, DS is in charge of the game distribution and patches (the devs make them but only DS can release them). This is why, the petition should necessarily go to DS, so that they direct whoever made the XBox version to complete the patch.

And that's why I play the PC version of Risen...... no major issues, no bickering over different versions in different places.

You are correct. PB cannot do anything about this.

There was a patch to correct Brightness.
Back in November....

I didn't mind the EU Version, never really saw the issues people complained about, enjoyed the game for what it is.
I knew what to expect graphically due to a Console Screenshot thread before release I posted...

What other patch are you baffling on about?
I think its obvious they wont release another patch and Petitions dont get anywhere...
