Hello,

I'm Here asking for help !
I Bought a new PC And Installed Windows 7.

Power Supply Energon 650W Retail
VGA 896MB GDDR3 PCIE16 GTX FXF 2DVI GX-260X-ADJL - GeForce GTX 260
NOTE: both 1 and 2 I played on windows XP Finished both gothics for more then 20 times and want to play again ! Still have the original CD's
1. When I run Gothic 1 it works But Everything flashes I see some blue sky where the ground should be and some more buggy stuff....
2.When I run it Nothing happens ! Gothic.exe is in Task manager but nothing happens !
What can I do ? Are there any Fixes or something ? I want to play ;(

Did you try reinstalling WinXP?
Or if you don't want that, try an ATI card.
And the nvidia card + Win7 combo is a known problem that will most likely not be solved unless some arse at nvidia decides to add support for a 9-year old game.
As for your search:
On the FIRST page: Gothic 1 and 2 in windows 7 with nvidia cards.
So yeah, huge search that must've been.
-
nah I Pay lots of money for GTX and ati is crap for me :P
Also aint going to use xp again
-
wow you bought a fucking powerful comp to play gothic 1 and 2? usualy ppl buy such comps for max grapchics for the new games like GTA 4 NFS Shift mass effect crysis and other mass awesome grapchic games.

I don;t know if such a thing exists, but maybe an xp emulator?
The g2 thing happens to me (xp) only when I have some other programs started, like messenger.

Already trying it, I will post Results Hope it works.
EDIT:
"It's not for gamers.
Are there games that run on XP but don't run well on Vista, and you don't expect them to run well on Windows 7? Don't expect XP Mode to help. It's not designed to run games, and so won't be a viable solution for you." From some website I found.
SO I installed Windows XP Mode and tried running the game I see 2 vid's PB and JV one's ! And then Black Screen ! I get error
Error-message "X: XD3D_InitDerDX: Can't create D3Dx context! Error: DDERR_UNSUPPORTED" - Error means that there is no driver and DirectX !
The Problem is that XP mode does not have a Video card ! I has totally no drivers ! So it worthless for games !
Only Reason is to ask for Nvidia or one of the moder's to make us a fix
Maybe someone have more idea's ???

Gothic 3 sucks cocks so I don't want it !

Yes, there is, tested it, failed.
@HaKaShi:
Only solution i know of would be to install XP as a dualboot system. (Or try to get a cheap, maybe used ati card, as far as i see your motherboard has two slots for gpu's.)
-
Yeah I will try to get something.
Still Would like to get a PM when something would be released.

Which one? The thing from MS that integrates into 7? Or a third party?
I used Virtual Box (for other things, not G1/G2) and was pleased with it.
It's for free and since version 3 it supports dx 8 and 9 apps. Apparently FarCry, SecondLife, Call of Duty, Unreal Tournament, Eve Online, World of Warcraft could work on it.
Or, could such a tool help?
3d analyze
Looks that it has many options to force compatibility settings for dx 8.1 and 9.

That thing from MS. I didn't tested VB or that tool.

Adventurer
Had the same problem, just dual-boot XP, instal the 1.08k patch and it should work fine( it did for me). This is the first time I'm playing this game since 6 YEARS ago!
IMPORTANT:
You have a GTX 260 right?, I have a 275 and you may sometimes notice a lag, where the texture of the game and words will change; simple solution that worked for me is rescreening, use marvin mode press F3 once and it will go windowed then press it again and the texture will change. I really tried the best I could, so hope this help, oh and BTW if you have any problems just reply.

I Tested both xp modes both don't work, now installing Windows to that Virtual box. More info later...

ToMMTi-Systems Tools Does not help
Virtual Box gives the same thing as XP Mode

Like I said: either install WinXP, or get an ATI card (which *are* better).

What is dual boot? Is it simultaneous loading of 2 OS, or you just install both OS and choose when you start the computer which one to boot?

Choose which one at boot time.

Sorry, mate, but your news is obsolete now because of severe bug with fan control this driver has been removed from the nVIDIA website.
