Ok, but do we care ? In fact it is said Gothic 1 was a failure, because of the very difficult controls and stuff, but a failure as it was, for many of us here it was a great game. So Arcania has to be a great game for the gothic fans here, not for the world. Yep, that's the only thing we wait for it.

His actual hair won't screw the game, but It would do so to my playing experience. The only type of hero will be the guildless, free-roaming one, adventurer, prince of persia-kind. But what If I want to be a respected mage ? It will not fit.

What, there's a default hair for mages. No, it doesn't, the fire and water mages weren't like the knee heads of the Brotherhood of the Sleeper.

I thought that the Brotherhood of the Sleeper was a win in terms of how the guys looked, what they wore and how their camp looked. Much better than most, if not all other guilds.

I do agree about the hair. It's not out of line, but could do with some improvement.

I had enogh with ugly baldies and mohawks Gothic 3. New game, new dev team, different decisions, different setting that it may look similar to Myrthana but the Southern island have something magical, different from what we seen before (eg: The Giant Tree).

And the developers are not your nannies, they make the game the way they want, if you like it, buy it, if don't who care. Since when a game must always be a fan service? It's not being tailored under your specifications.
I showed the pics to non-Gothic fans, but RPG players, and they never complained or even mentioned anything about the hero's hair, they just hope that it won't happen a Gothic 3 again.
EDIT: Face it, you guys never liked the idea of a new hero, you always wanted the old NH as the playable character for ArcaniA, I bet that you are still wondering why PB did with with the ponytail of the NH in Gothic 3. Why they took it out.

One of my biggest problems with Arcania is the emo haircut of the hero. Please change it. It's not only immersion breaking and anachronistic, it's also downright hideous. Make him bald, or give him long fair hair that flows in wave-like locks, but please, no emo.

Not exactly. It just that you sounded like the hero's hairdo bashers. Damn them, there are even worse things to be worried about. I know that this has been said tons of time, but it is true. For example: I'm far more worried about the hero's personality rather than his look. I really hope that just because he looks young, he won't be an arrogant jacka$$ like the Prince of Persia in the Sands of Time Trylogy. Even the garbage can be pretentious.

The only problem is that his face just doesn't suit the haircut. It would have looked much better if they used Nicholas D'Agosto (from the "fired up" movie) as reference character, only with a more manly rugged tone cause he has exactly the same haircut and he looks very cool with it. That's just my opinion.

I bet that our hero doesn't look as rugged because he's young fisherman, not a veteran warrior. Even the old NH didn't looked so tough in Gothic 1&2, in fact he was quite the ladies man with that ponytail, calmed expression, soft voice and perfectly trimmed goatee and sideburns. But in Gothic 3 he did looked way tougher and rugged, as if the events of Gothic II NOTR really marked him with fire.

this discussion will lead nowhere.they will make the hairstyle of the hero just the way they want to.and if this is the way they want to make the hero...well...kinda sucks.just picture the nameless hero in G3 with this "emo"haircut.bad.and maybe if the haircut is "emo" (not saying emo as a bad thing) the whole game goes that way.maybe world of arcania is ment to be full of things like that.sounds like marketing ,people! i really can't expect at this point that Arcania will be an immersive game.

not everybody has to make his hairs 3 hours in the morning to make it look like that, it's just a normal haircut.
Also, the haircut says nothing, absolutely NOTHING about the person!

I'm agree that haircut of the Arcania hero is quite normal. By the way, created by PB face of Risen hero was too ugly. IMHO the face is more or less suitable to him was created by WernerTWC with haircut from Liade.
Therefore if you are not pleasant the face or haircut of the Arcania hero, please wait till Arcania will released, hack the game resources and replace them such which from your point of view is more suitable to this character.
