Hello everyone!
as you can see im new here, im not much of a forum person to be honest, but i have a problem that made me register here (and german made it hard!) to look for help.
About a month ago i finished Gothic II and the Add on pack, The night of the raven. The Add on was in german so i had to download an english subtitles mod, everything was really nice.
The game was so good that i decided i should play the first part of it, so i got Gothic 1 about a week ago. The problem is, the only one i could find was in german, and i dont know german.
I thought it wasnt much of a problem, i was sure there had to be a translation mod like there was for the addon of the seccond part, but i havent been able to find it.
I looked everywhere, at least everywhere i know, and couldnt find it, now the game is there, installed but not being played becouse i dont understand a single word.
So... my question is, Is there a english subtitle mod for Gothic 1?

if you can help me with an answer, either yes or no, i would be very happy.

Well, I don't think that such a mod exists, cos there is an english version of G1 available. So why create a translation mod?

I hope I'm wrong and maybe someone else knows better and can help you, but I personally don't know a translation mod for G1.

no, actually i live in argentina, so i bought the only gothic 1 version i found (well not me actually, someone got it for me and send it to my house)... i guess it was my fault for not checking what language it was, i assumed it was english since it was in argentina... but i guess now i know why no one had bought that copy before, also it was kind of a bargain...
ill see if i get it again sometime in the future.

hmm this always makes me wonder why gothic1 and especially gothic2 didn't receive any wider releases, the series seems to be an insider gem outside of the german-speaking countries.

i know they are planning to finally hit the jackpot with part3, but gothic1 was as wonderful as the new version could ever get, they should have made it a big topic in the states and elsewhere immediately after its release.
