: History and intention: -1872: Yellowstone as the first national park all over the world.
-due to campaigns by the citizens, the us government founded more national parks, like Yosemite Valley and Sequoia.
-President Roosevelt founded another 18 parks.
-Nowadays there are 58 national parks all across USA
-organized by the National Park Service, an institution of the US Department of the Interior.
-the parks itself are administrated by the rangers
-established to conserve the wildlife
-it is not allowed to do any work in the fauna (e.g..: overthrown trees have to be left on the ground)
Sequoia National Park
-founded in 1890
-Includes an area of 3.504,4 km² together with the Kings Canyon National Park
-located in California, next to the Kings Canyon National Park
-renowned for its huge trees called Sequoias
-includes the Mt. Whitney, which rises to 14,491 feet above sea level
a Sequoia is approximately: -70 meters tall
-3-6 meters big
-2000 years old

- biggest perch has 2 meters in aperture
- the biggest creature in the entire world
Yellowstone National Park

-located in Wyoming in the North-West of the USA
-Includes an area of 8,987 square km
-renowned for for its geysirs
-approximately 2,000 earthquakes a year
-Home for endangered animals like wolfs or grizzle bears
