Small reputation mod. For Orc and Hashishin rep.
This is the first mod (if i can call it that) i make for Gothic 3. It is a small mod to change some of the reputation rewards from quests in the game. I am not doing anything with the Rebel reputation quests as i see the faction as balanced. So this is only to increase the gain for Hashishin and Orc reputation.
My reasons: May contain a few spoilers.
But i am not going to make it to easy to get the reputation. For orcs you still have to do some quest that involves killing rebel instigators or rangers.
You basicly have to choose to join the orcs.
When it comes to the hashishin it is esier to get points if you go the bad way and take down nomads or their allies. But you can atleast get into Isthar without having to go against the nomads. Think of it as a way to work both sides, or an inside man for the nomads. Or think of it as you have to do lesser evil to do greater good kind of way.
Last notes: This is something i made for personal use, but i will share it when everything is ready. And it whont be long since it is very easy to do this thing. Now i just need to go through a more thorough test and find out where and how to post it to the public (Any tips is highly appreciate). I am only testing this with Alternative balancing on, i will include a file that works with both, and one that only works with AB.
Changelog so far
Feel free to post any comments. About balancing issues or whatever.
First version is done. Il update if issues are discovered.

It looks kinda good. Does it work whit CP 1.70 ? Because If it does, I think It will be worth to download your mod. Also would it require a restart ? Or it would work from any CP 1.70 saved game ?
I am who I am, I have to be what I want to be.

I made it for CP 1.70 It might work for older versions but i am not sure.
It does work with saves, but you will not get the new reputation from already completed quests.
The mod is finished actualy. just have to upload it somewhere.
Note: I made this for Alternative Balancing. Il include a file that works only with AB and one that works with both. But i have only tested it with AB turned on. A readme will be included.

Anyone have any tips on where i can upload it?

Zip it and put it here: http://upload.worldofplayers.de (In German, but pretty simple, without the nagging of other popular upload services.)

So now you can get more than 100% rep with them, right?

Good job dude . You've taken your first steps into being a modder, plan on doing any more modding anytime soon ?

And yes i guess you can get more than 100 percent, I am not sure what this can do to the game, and i will try and balance this out after my full run through of the game with this small mod. This is something i kinda made realy fast and it is just the first version. Best thing would be to just lower the Required reputation for the places Isthar and inner Faring Castle. I just cant find the files for this.
Another goal with this mod is basicly giving the Factions a more realistic way of granting reputation. As some quests should make your character more known in certain communities. With this i have specialy increased the reputation from Arena fights. As i feel that these are set kinda highly by these two factions.
As with the orcs you might have noticed that some of the arenas around Myrtana are mostly humans that run them. My own impression of the orcs is that they dont regard humans very highly unless they are very strong or honorable. So in arenas like Montera and Lower Faring i have only awarded points for the champion fight. But if the character takes down an orc i feel that the orcs takes much more notice of this. And you eeh name is more spread around the country.

Thanks and yes i would like to try my hands on more modding. But il have to get more knowledge in how G3 modding works. The tutorials from www.g3-modding.tk/ helped me with this. And should give me a good starting point. And of course the very nice modding manual from the Community Patch Team.

Good luck, you have a long path to walk . Perhaps you'd like to come and work on the Story Project?

Tempting, but i think it's a project that is a little to big for me right now. And i do not think i got enough time on my hand to do it. Thanks for asking though. But i will keep myself updated about that project. It seems very interesting. So if i learn more about modding in the future and see something i can help with il comment on it atleast.

Thanks for the mod. Now at last I can enter Ishtar (I never felt like killing water mages, and so had to start killing right at the gates). Good work!

For Ishtar I would guess the responsible for this is FILLER455_info_G3_World_01.info which has this parameter: ConditionType=25
25 means you must be a Political Friend.
I guess the 75% value is a global constant (since the upper part of towns and the rest of political rep use this value). In that case, you won't be able to change it to something lower.

Thanks alot. Happy you like it. Yea i hated that you had to kill known characters as the water mages. Now you atleast have the choise to not do so. And still complete all the liberating quests as they should be completed. Since it is still an easy way to get lots of reputation by killing the water mages. i just whanted more choices in how you could prove yourself worthy to enter Isthar. And with this Master Dual Wield is not restricted for Hashishin only without being forced to use a master sword.

Ah thanks, whent through a whole lot of those Info files but could not find it. Your search skill is higher than mine il look into it and see what can be done. I dont whant to change the whole reputation system, so if it cant be changed without changing the global constant. il rather try and balance what i have done so far. If balance is needed.
One thing i am going to test is the fact that you might get more than 100 reputation with these factions now if you do every quest. Far as i have seen this does not seem to affect anything if i cheat to get reputation over 100. Il see what happens if i get it by doing the quests. But i doubt it actualy affects the game in any way.
A note from the changelog for CP 1.70
- You can't get more than 100% reputation in the cities (also when you still make quests for a city after a liberation)
If this was possible to do with Political Rep it would not be a problem atleast.
