This may not be helpful, but.Then you're gonna waste a lot of money buying an iPod. There are lots of players out there just as good or maybe even better than an iPod at much cheaper prices. Sorry, just my opinion.

Not much helpful indeed but you're not the only one to say this so I'll take it into consideration.

BUT, I'm seriously doubtful if any of the smaller iPods, eg. the Nano-series, is worth the rather expensive price of iPods. Their storage capacity is very limited, rendering the biggest pro of the Classic-series void. They also aren't as small as the name implies; only "small" in comparison to other iPod-models.

If what you want is a decent mp3-player with a few GB of storage size, I'd say go for a Creative Zen Stone - they're really good and quite cheap. They've got a very sparse graphical display, and the original 1 GB model had no graphical display, but their buttons are very intuitive and their greatest asset is their sleek design (not like those chunky awful Philips-players) and small size. The Zen Stone Plus w. 2 GB of storage size looks like quite an optimal choice for someone who wants value for money, doesn't require a lot of storage space and has a limited budget to go on.

So, no, I wouldn't say an iPod Nano is worth it. The only iPod models I consider worthwhile are the iPod Touch if you're a techfag, and the iPod Classic 80GB/120GB/160GB if you require lots of storage space and basic multimedia support.

I've seen and compared iPod Classic 6G and iPod nano 4G and the classic is very chunky,also I doubt I'll ever need more than 5GBs of storage so Classic's capacity(and price)is too much for me.

Go and get yourself a cd-player instead.

Now srsly, you sholud buy an iphone or a sony k800i or a any other telephone and a 4 GB card or something like that, cause it costst about the same an has more functionalities.

iPhone costs as much as iPod?Where do you live?In Greece iPhones cost 499 Euro and the iPod I want to buy costs 130.I have a telephone and I love it I don't think cellphones are the best media players.

Creative have good mp3 players. They are a lot better than iPod which are just lame design electronics who break way to easily.

I like iPod's design,I have friend whose iPods are working after 2 or 4 years.

Anyway, atm I am using my cell phone as a mp3 player, got 1gb memory card and earphones. That's like, totally enough. But my earphones don't work as good as before, they stop from time to time.

I'd suggest you buy something like a 2 GB mp3 player, maybe philips or samsung. My bro has a philips and it's awesome.

But I don't see the point of buying a 4gb ipod. I'd much rather have a 80(or more) GB version.

I will get this iPod tomorrow, for Christmas, but with 16 GB, not only with 4, maybe I can tell you something more in two or three days. The design is very good I think, but you allready said that this is not important for you. When I bought it, I looked at this site, where you can find a table where the iPods are compared, but it's a pity that it is in german and not in english. So I am going to test my iPod in a few days and hope to have a better opinon then, but all in all I think it's a good investment. Seems to be very good and it should be enough for listening to music.

I've got an iPod Nano, but the 8 gig version. This one. Quite happy with it. And 8 gigs seems like enough space for my favorite songs.

A friend of mine has exactly the same iPod and she loves it.I like 4g's design more thought.

But considering he's interested just in music itself?

I'm interested in music,but why would I say no to some extra functionalities?

From what I understand most of you say to go with Creative.I've visited Creative's store but I don't like any of those players,I think iPods are easier to use ,their UI and design is better.I care mostly about music but is there anything worse than paying for something you don't like?
It's like I want to buy a Ferrari,everybody say that Porsches are better,but I don't want a Porsche I HATE Porsches yet people keep saying that Ferraris are shit or that they are too expensive.
So it's now iPod vs Creative for me.

Me dude...and don't act like that. Most of us don't have money for an iPod. I got a 4giga Mp4 but it''s display is broken. Well what do you know? The fact that my parents make 15 million ROL per month and we pay 5 millions for the car rent plus the money for food and taxes leaves us with an average 5 million to spend for other shit. And a new display costs 1 million. An iPod? Much much more.
