Hold on, if you found the talisman while he was around at the circle and gave it back, will he still give you the XP when you meet him at Cavalorn's spot thereafter?

Yes, afaik you will get also the exp from him, if you talk to him at Cavalorn's hut.

Magic Armor u can get it only with cheats.

i took him along with me to Irdorath; after i slew the undead dragon, i got back to the ship to complete the game, but oddly enough, i did not find Angar to be present on the ship; where is he ?

He's either somewhere on the way back to the ship,or he got killed by something.
