Im curious to know other people opinion on this. Im not a big cheater myself and i dont like to use what i call "coward cheating", that means that if i cheat i use all of the cheat codes, so for me its like : i cheat or i dont cheat there is no middle way. Now here comes the big question "Why do you cheat?". Most of the time i do it for fun, when i get bored i save then i cheat blasting my way through the levels, but i always come back to play the level ive just spoilered.

So what about you people ?

Talking about single player? I often cheat, especially in Rpgs. I can't stand not having the option to go for a jack of all trades character. If the system is too restrictive for such a char, I will cheat.

And multiplayer? I'D NEVER DO THAT. (xcept for that one time when I used maphack to fuck everyone and make them miserable. Haha)

It looks like most people cheat for fun but cheats can be very usefull for people who work on reviews for example and face a deadline.

Cheating is not only a way to have fun or simply give you unfair advantages, for example I learned about everything of gothic using the console, so if someone translates the gothic modin Wiki from german to english , I already know half of what to do to make a mod for example.
I don't personaly cheat in games , but sometimes if im bored I save my game
and use a cheat or two to have fun.

well sometimes i find the game realy pissed and not balanced so i use cheats to balance it again

I cheat in offline games to have more fun. But just, when I played the story through. For example: GTA. This game is with cheats an enjoyment. I could play hour for hour this game, it never becomes boring.

But I hate those guys, who are cheating in online games.

In Multiplayergames cheating is the last thing I´d do.
Online-Cheater are annoying and should be banned.

In SP-Games cheating is fun. I play the game and when I´m finished I use cheats to have fun. I take the best equipment and kill even the most dangerous enemies.

Or in Gothic I use cheats to play as someone else.

It´s really fun to go through the game as a wolf or something else.

Besides this cheating can ruin the game but in some places cheats are usefull because the game is nearly unbeatable.

they don't even deserve hell's mercy in my oppinion, they made me quit a good MMO because EVERY SINGLE GOD DAM GUY WAS A CHEATER!!!~!@!~!!!

I "cheated" recently in Might & Magic VI to get the fourth Blaster Rifle, since I didn't feel like spending two hours fighting goddamn Terminator Bots. Saved me time and effort, drawback? Lost experience.

Only instances in which I cheat are when I want to skip a damn tedious moment.

I don't cheat in games. At least not before I finish a game. Even in games like GTA and Postal, games that "make" you use cheats to have some fun, I won't cheat if I know that it'll spoil the story and definitely I'm not gonna cheat and save afterwards.

I'll cheat only in games whenever I think developers forgot to put something or so. I cheated once in NotR and spawned 2 speed potions because I couldn't find a trader nearby and I had to return back - so what's the point spending twice more time walking back to the point you started?

2-3 years ago I was cheating like mad. Now I never cheat in games. Even If I finish the game. 2 years ago when I was playing GTA:SA, I cheated a lot and I've done extremly wrong because there is a glich. IF you cheat more the 1000times, you can't get past the mission where OG Lock tryes to suicide. I used 3000 cheats. So, cheats are used by people
