I've seen someone posting suggestion for people to play Gothic NotR in Hardcore mode (permanent dying). I find this idea ingenious Therefore I have made my own idea of suggestions to restrictions for the gameplay of your character. Here is a few ideas, some mine some others, that you can use if you want and gain eternal respect from mankind.

Here is a few restrictions:
- Vegetarian (No meat)
- Carnivore (Only meat)
- Diet (No food)
- No booze
- Illiterate (No scrolls)
- Unbeliver (No magic)
- Monk (No weapons... yeah I know.)
- Lawfull (No crimes)
- Animal rights (Kill no animals ((wolves, sheeps and such)) )
- Peacefull (Knock down no people, unless its important if you do.)
- Atheist (You can't pray at any shrines.)

Some good ones from DTR:

Insomniac: Player cannot sleep at all.
Paranoid: Player cannot eat anything bought from vendors
Superstitious: Player cannot use anything magical
Picky: Player will only eat meat from domestic animals he has slaughtered himself.
Illiterate: Player cannot read.
Impotent: Player cannot use the "bordello"....
Irritated bowel: Player cannot drink healing potions or mana potions
Lactose intolerant: No milk or cheese for player.
Glass-bones: Player cannot jump.

Tratos's Suggestions:
Possessed: Once i player gets possessed by the seekers, he can no longer use restoring potions from Pyrokar.
Fire Mage: Uses fire spells the most , can use any spell but the ice-based and black and necromantic summoning spells. (to achieve must have fire rain)
Water Mage: Uses ice spells the most, can use any spell but fire-based and black and necromantic summoning spells. (to achieve must have storm or smth like that)
Necromancer: Can use summoning and beliar spells, to achieve must have army of darkness and cry of the dead.
Claw Master: Must have fought (or at least deliver the final blow) with Beliar's Claw (not any beliar rune) against all 6 dragons.
Cleanser of the Brotherhood: Must have killed all seekers in the game.
Black Troll slayer: Must have killed the Black Troll in a head to head fight. Spells, bows, crossbows and mostly of all EXPLOITS AND CHEATS not to be used. Only aproach => hit => survive => heal => go again

Suggestions from Danto:
Druid: The only magic spell the hero can cast are summoning spells.
Survivor: The hero has to be a hunter but only goes to Khorinos to buy arrows,water and sells furs .He has to live in the wilderness.And eat only what nature provides him and what he hunts.
Masochist: In Gothic 2 there are a lot of bullies who want to beat up the hero you have to find all of them and get beaten up.(Those that kill you the moment you drop are excluded)
Farmer: The hero can live in Lobarts farm and when he wakes up (8.00) has to do field work until 12.00.He may eat turnips and stew too.
Aristocrat: Kill a noble in the upper quarter and live in his house.
Parkour: Jump on the roofs and do cool things. ( I did it in G2 lots of times its really cool )
Sweet tooth: The hero can restore his health and mana by eating only apples,blue elder,berries of all kinds,honey.
Mikael Grizly: The hero must live in the library in the monastery
Khaled: The hero must beat up novices from the monastery (cause they are considered gay)
Calin: In Gothic 1 you must always be with Mud.He is your best friend.
Rekinu: In Gothic 2 you must arrest and collect the bounty for every single criminal.
Onisuzume: You must wear the clothes of a seeker cause Oni doesnt talk much about herself and she sometimes reminds me of them.Dark and Mysterious
Bastardo: You must always have swampweed on you and smoke daily 5 reefers.

Takashys Insane Hardcore Restrictions:
Sexy Hero = play the game without armor
Berserker = K.O.S. Kill NPCs on sight. Not those immortal, of course.
Criminal Mastermind = picklock all chests from Khorinis! And take everything from them, of course
Weapon mastering restrictions* = Knight - access to all type of weapon training, 100%.
Mercenary - access to three type of weapon training, 80%.
Militia - access to two type of weapon training, 65%.
Peasant - access only to one type of weapon training, 45%.

Be carefull not to choose so many, since that may ruin gameplay, warns Black Sphere.

Mix this with Gothic Hardcore to earn reknown among the community. Post your completed.

There is a mod for G2 where you become a vampire, Blood Night. In it, you suffer damage from the sun if you go out without a special protective robe (an armor that's like really weak) and you have to drink blood at intervals. It's a nice mod.

A rather obvious restriction could be faction loyal: will not do (optional) quests for any other factions at any point in the game, only missions for the own guild, and no missions that are against the own guild. Especially in G2: NoTR that might make the game considerably harder, seeing as you get a lot of easy XP from such missions early in the game.

That could be a bit tricky because sometimes you have to use one in order to advance in the main quest. And that wouldn't be that difficult, only tedious.

Noble = No sneaking or pickpocketing skills allowed. Killing and stealing (commit crimes)- out of the question. (only if it involves a quest is allowed.)

Dominator = Win all battles and never loose.

Supreme Warrior = Do not receive ANY damage in all of your battles.
