g2 - should I make a deal with Canthar?
I have re-started G2 (last time I played g2+addon (NotR).
What are the results when I make deal with Cantar?
The immediate result is that I save 100 gold when entering Khorinis.

Yeah, but by doing that you'll have to do a mission for him later..plus,there are free ways of entering the city, -and getting a nice bonus for them, too.
Plus, you kinda missed out on a weapon (not anything spectacular..but helpful in the beginning).

There are other ways to get to Khorinis for free...climbing the wall or stealing the peasant clothes...If you do this don't forget to see Lares.Nevertheless whatever you choose when you reach Khorinis Canthar will ask you to help him with a small problem..

It is not worth taking his pass unless you don't mind putting him behind bars later on... which will cost you 500 g in a later chapter...
best way is to probably buy the farmers clothes ( 30 g) and you may choose later which if you want to help or betray canthar. If you didn't take his pass you will get a weapon ( if you help him that is) which is worth much more than the gold you save...

why buy when he COULD steal it wothout having him noticed?? ,go in the course of day in his bedroom and take the clothes from his chest,it doesn't require key

Well, in my games Lobart always noticed
I took the clothes out of the chest and when he sees me the next time, he asks for them, even when I have already selled the clothes.
If you don't wish to help him he will make you pay an important sum further on(Chapter 5 I think.)
Chapter 3.
But you can also ignore Canthar in Khorinis and speak with him in chapter 3. Then he gives you the quest to bring Sarah into prison. Normally he also gets out in the 3rd chapter, when you bring him into prison instead of Sarah. (and Sarah disappears) But when you bring him into prison in the 3rd chapter, (and not in the 1st or 2nd) he never gets free and you don't have to pay.

well, when I usualy take his clothes I don't talk to him at all and he doesn't say anything about the clothes

When you don't talk to him anymore, you miss some XP, for example you get 600 for killing the orcs, who spawn in the 4th chapter at his farm when you are paladin or dragonhunter...of course there are oblivion scrolls, but one costs 100 gold, while you get the clothes for 30 and this 30 gold pieces I also have at the beginning of the game^^

Canthar is an evil man because he wants to get rid of poor sarrah. So. I sent him jail and later on killed him there (and btw be sure to cut his throat before 3:rd chapter)..just beware the guardsman.. Its best to use sleep spell on him before attacking canthar. the problem with canthar is that he is a decent fighter, so I usually just snipe him with a bow through bars or launch ice block before hitting him.
