Does anybody know how to sharp weapons in G2? I tried all the combinationsut the steel in the forge fire then in the water bucket then on the whetstone...put the steel in the forge fire then on the anvil then in the water bucket and then on the whetstone, and so on... I tried all of this possible combinations and none of them work...I didn't see though anybody who would the option of teaching you this thing...I don't even know if it exists some kind of skill and how to use it...
Does anybody knows something about this???

If it doesn't exist why the message "don't have the right item" appears every time I want use the whetstone. Maybe it realy is some kind of item I haven't discovered yet

Maybe u haven`t a hammer?

You need three things: Forging skill, Raw steel and a Smith's Hammer.
You don't need the grindstone and the water bucket, just put the raw steel in the fire, then go to the anvil and forge.

The Items, which you need for the grindstone and the water bucket still exists, but you don't need them. As Huntsman say, you need: The skill and a Raw steel, you even don't need a Smith's hammer.

I was quite annoyed by the fact that several steps were not necesary for this, for example the hammer.
And another annoying thing is that if you put the hot red steel into the watter bucket, it'll dissappear from your inventory

Exactly. I even forgot that you don't need a Smith's Hammer, cause I've been using it anyway to make it look more realistic. If I am not mistaken, when you don't have a hammer it looks as though you're blasting the sword with an invisible one - I may be wrong, haven't tried that in quite some time. Btw, I like G1's forging much more, even though it is slower.

There is no difference, the Smith's hammer is only an item, like the normal knife. There is no deeper sense. You want to forge a sword: Buy a raw steel, go to the forge fire and now go to the anvil and forge.

you can only use whetstone with item "blade", but u can take that item only from NPC using cheats... even if u'll use blade with whetstone this thing makes no sense...

maybe they had an idea of more complex smithing, but then discarded it later on for some reason. Or those animations are just for the sake of immersion.
