Ahh. Hmm, one more stupid question, I noticed many of the lines were spoken by characters who didnt say those lines in the game (ie when Diego was training the Nameless Hero in the scene before the arena fight). How did you guys pull that off?
Well, that was to make to movie more interesting, of corse. That scene was my favorite. Or do you mean how did they replicate Diego's voice?
Happiness is what motivates me through its absence!
The original actors spoke some lines for the movie as far as I know.
That was for the german version, ... while they had the actors for g3 recording the speeches in the studio they gave them some additional lines to read for the german movie.
If there are not ingame spoken lines in the english movie, then i guess it was cutted together.
All dialogues in the english version come from the game. Gor Na Toth from the sect camp is using the same voice as Diego, so that's where the sword-training dialogue part comes from.
From what I can remember, if you extract the sound files and look at their name, there's a number at the beginning that indicates which voice actor did the line. I think there was 15 actors or so for the entire game. Not a great feature for immersion in the game, but really cool when you feel like adding a few lines to a character for some movie.
There's a bunch of cool stuff in the sound files, like some guy announcing In Extremo (not featured in the game, asaik). I used it for the intro of the fight in the arena.
Its a shame that they removed the concert and stuff from the English Version. From what I've heard, the German version was way more immersive and had much more heartfelt voice acting.
Concert? Was that supposed to take palce on that weird scene near the castle entrance?
Yes. It was removed from the English version (and I think from all the other versions except German) because of the licensing problems (read costs).
But you can still enable it in-game, with some cheats.
I downloaded first the german version of this movie but I doesn't know german language so much, just few words... So, I almost skipped the whole movie from start to the end!
It's a good thing that they released a english version of this movie too, so now (almost) everyone can enjoy Gothic - The Movie!
By the way, is there any plans for Gothic 2 and Gothic 3 movies?
I don't think those two lend themselves to becoming movies quite as much. Gothic 3 sorta, that would be really cool actually, but Gothic 2 I dunno. I bet some people would disagree, but I just cant see Gothic 2 lending itself to being a movie quite as much as the 1st game.

i dont think its posible to make gothic 3 movie, there are not camera moving in marvin mode and there are many bugs
gothic 2 movie will be awsome thing
i wonder why they wont do such thing
Yep... in the ages of Gothic 3 v1.0 I had test mode on for quick bug repairing and such, and some combinations of keys did funny stuff with the camera.
alright I watched gothic 1 the movie... well, it's so-so. I can't say I really liked it, but it's not bad either. now there are some parts which were... like
Spoiler:(zum lesen bitte Text markieren)
the part where a GUARD uses a RAIN OF FIRE on some weak black goblins, while he's on chapter 3!!! what the F is that all about? why not using Breath of Death on Mud? no wait, it would be better if he uses Wave of Death while holding the charged Uruziel on the Crawler Queen? gosh
