Creature sounds
I dont know if this is a problem yet, but I remember in gothic 2
the scavengers used to give a warning cry before they attacked.
In gothic 3 I can see the scavengers moving there mouths and
heads as they did in gothic 3, but there is no sound. The only sounds
I get is when I hit them with the sword. I have the latest patch and
the lastest sound drivers for my sb audigy 2 sound card. Has this
been a commen problem or is it another bug. Can someone help
me with this. Ps I have already tried adjusting the speaker combos
in the audio section with no success....tks

No, there's no problems with your PC,
just G3 team discovered that scavengers is a sort of birds,,
and should not give that huge screaming sound again..
and some earlier versions fans reported some symptoms of heart failure..
and others treated them as harpy,,
finaly G3 team decided to make scavengers a polite birds to suit all ages..
and more polite than the chickens..
(Imagine that my grandfather started to like G3.... )...

Stranger things are happening now. The bloodfly has no sound,
and the enviromental sounds are starting to sound mixed up.
Have you heard of any other sound issues in the game. tks

Ambient sounds are broken. There's a fan made modification replacing certain sounds in the game with G2 sounds in the German section of these forums: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum...d.php?t=159405

- Orcs (just funny, but can become annoying with time. The sounds can simply be removed from the Data\Speech_English\English_ogg directory, they are named *Orc*)

I did convert it so that it should work with the English version as well. Download: http://g3.no.game-host.org/Gothic_3_....2-english.rar
Just unpack it into your Gothic III directory. To uninstall, remove the Sound and Speech_English folders from Gothic III\data
I haven't been able to check if it works, as I don't have an English version of G3. So, if you're up for an experiment ... :-).

I tested it and it works...Some sounds from the previous Gothics are better.
But some of them are same and bad...For example the Troll got similar sounds with a shadowbeast.
1 question. If i want to change the T-rex voice...can i make a folder named "monster" and put in there some OGG files?
I think T-rex is named monster in the game...so it should work no?

Yes... sadly the sounds are broken in Gothic 3.
I unpacked the G3 sound file and found a lot of sounds that simply are not audible in game: falls, rain etc..
This is a serious bug and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Yep I unpacked the files into the gothic 3 directory,
but the sounds are a bit out of sink in the english version.
Ie: The warning cry before attack of the scavenger in gothic 3 now
comes up when the bird has been killed or just before its demise.
Also the bloodfly attack warning sound is so low you cant really
here it. Ill check on other sounds as they come up and see what happens.

They should finally do something with the sounds. Lots of them don't play at all, which basically apply not only to ambient sounds but also to the creatures sounds. Only few of them are played !!! which effects the play really much !
