Edit: Doch noch was...
Readme beachtet?
1) Set 'Ultra' preset in game
2) Download textures and place files to data
3) Install Gothic 3 v1.75 Update Pack
4) Place to game folder and use "G3_edd_Launcher.exe" to run game
Nicht, dass du das Spiel über die normale Exe gestartet hast. Das würde erklären, weshalb kein Unterschied sichtbar ist.

Hi
Hi,
To: Enhanced Draw Distance (G3 REMASTERED)
This is experimental project and at current time i do not work on it
Need assembler programmer 80+ level or original game sources (I'm only level 79)
May be later i'll return to it
To settings:
[SL = 300000] ;DO NOT INCREASE!
[SH = 33500] ;Complex chain of render settings values (you can increase\decrease it)
I noticed : SL and SH is experimental and you can increase\decrease this values
Game is fully stable (without textures)
- No ctd's, etc
- And yes, shared performance boost ~20-25+%
All you need - do not install textures and set TEXTURES ATTACH = FALSE
UNLOCK RS = TRUE (in game 'home' key to edit any rs effects)
'INSERT' key enable\disable RS in game
If you already did install textures:
Do not try remove it manually!
>>> Use [UNINSTALL EDD = TRUE]
(Look at EDD INI file)
Then you can use it without textures and no issues
To make it work you should use EDD_launcher
If you copy files from sandbox or etc - it will not work.
My other projects:
W1 (Vanilla Remaster)
Star Trek Elite Force II REMASTERED
Morrowind (Vanilla Remaster)
Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 REMASTERED
(Global) F3-NV-TTW (Vanilla Remaster) (Outdated! I'll plan to update it at few days)
(Global) Tes-4: Oblivion (Vanilla Remastered) (Outdated! I'll plan to update it at few days)
I am currently working on:
TexA-DDS (Recommend modmakers look at this tool)
Sorry my english. My native language is russian.
If you are frightened by Russian hackers, then I strongly declare that there are no viruses or the something like.
Also program work without admin and can't be run with admin privileges by safety reasons!
Info from NEXUS
Known issues:
- Black screen after game launch (5-10 sec)
- Non regular sound issue (look at RIO)
- Sometime some polygons is dark in caves (just save\load to fix it)
Install:
1) Set 'ultra' preset in game
2) OPTIONAL: Download textures and place files to data (EXPERIMENTAL- MAY CAUSE CTD's)
3) Install World of Gothic Gothic 3 v1.75 Update Pack
4) Place to game folder and use G3_edd_Launcher.exe to run game
5) For steam users - copy steam.exe to Gothic3 main folder
Uninstall:
Auto (recommend!)
1) Open G3_edd.ini and set UNINSTALL EDD = TRUE
2) Run launcher
Manual:
1) Open G3_edd.ini and set TEXTURES ATTACH = FALSE
2) Launch game via G3_edd_Launcher.exeand exit (this is required for unmount textures)
3) Delete all _compiledImage.0-X(not *.p00-pXX) in gothic3\data and delete data\_compiledImage folder
- Current version 1.6 contains two files - _compiledImage.0 and 1 (just delete it, after step 2)
4) Rename gothic3\ini\original_ge3.ini ---> ge3.ini
READ THIS!
(!) EDD require vulkan support
After first launch shaders compiling requires - this take a while!
TIPS\ANSWERS:
1) Do not try use textures without EDD_launcher (you will get a ctd's and broken textures while TGA compiling)
3) Radius of influence - RIO: 5500 is optimal (sometime still cause sound issue)
- Affect to sound entities distance also cause getting a limit of engine sound channels (but default value = 4000 is too low for NPC distance)
4) In game setting shadow quality set to low? Ignore it (used max possible quality)
5) EAX? No, used modified DSOAL for fix some sound issues (G3 not support eax, but HTRF work)
6) Do not rename _compiledImage.0 (this is uncompressed speed texture pack)
7) Why some textures is TGA format? This textures will be compiled on fly (EDD_launcher will check conversion automatically)
- TGA textures - this is _compiledImage.1 in next update
8) Do not make any ini tweaks - all of it is unuseful
9) If you change resolution in game setting - restart game (scaling bug)
10) How much VRAM G3 now use? ~5-6gb without issues (no limits)
11) Do not enable engine anti aliasing (will be used rs smaa instead it)
Notice for g3_edd.ini:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[SH = 35000] <--- This is complex chain of render settings values (you can increase\decrease it)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(!) This value is experemental and you can edit it
(!) Reduce it, if you got a missed level geometry or ctd's (with step 500)
Check it in game and repeat, if issue still appea
Then you can make a new save and restore it to 3500 (3400)
Remember - clean game is lagging and randomly crash also

Hello Kuzja,
thanks for coming here and welcome to the World of Gothic forum.
I'm really interested in your project and it sounds pretty nice so far. But did I understand you correctly, that you don't recommend to use your provided textures at all? I would be pretty sad about it, since higher resolution textures would be great. Hopefully you can optimize everything, so using textures will be no problem in the future.
I will continue to follow your project on ModDB but you're welcome to create a thread here too.

Hi, JudgeKyle
To textures:
with enhanced textures i did try to fly under all G3 map on free-cam mode. No CTD's, but sometime it crash near Montera (or teleporting)
May be it still need some tweaks...
With vanilla no issues. So...at current time textures is experemental option. I hope i'll fix it soon.
Mostly original textures is 2k already
Was enhanced only small textures < 2k
This engine not correct work with 2k textures also
(allocate memory issues not depend on x86 limits)
