Hi, apologies if this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find some definitive information on this.

I have Gothic Gold Edition on Steam, and when I start it, the version reported is 2.7. The game has a messed up resolution, with a white border around it. I've seen different patches in different places, including dx11 and system packs and whatnot, and a 2.6 patch here. I played the game for a bit a couple of years ago and remember installing some patches, but don't really remember what.

Can someone give me some solid information on what to install over a fresh steam installation (2.7) to make the game work properly and fix a bunch of the bugs that are supposedly present? I'd rather not have alternative balancing stuff, just the most amount of bug fixes and preferably dx11 and/or 1920x1080 resolution.

first of all: Make sure Gothic is not installed within the C:\Program files ...\ - Filepath (steam defaults to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\gothic...)

Installation:
1. Install the Steam version
2. install the "Report Patch" => https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_278.htm
3. Install the Playerkit 2.6f => https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_168.htm
4. Install the Systempack => https://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/download_597.htm

After that, the game should pretty much work flawlessly on modern Systems
This is the routine that i usually follow.
