Which is correct. "Buddler" were the prisoners who worked the mines in the first Gothic. They also exist in Gothic 2, for example the slaves in Raven's mine in Jharkendar.
So it basically means "the digger's meat" (since they probably didn't have much more to eat than the mushrooms growing everywhere).
Oh, thank you! Of course! I'm so stupid, it never occurred to me that it could be a plant - I was fixated on it being meat from an animal ... So obvious now It's even called Digger Meat in the English text.
