[Linux] Erhalte keine IP. Hat mein LAN-Port ein Eigenleben?

    Aloha,

    Ich erhalte unter Linux keine IP über LAN und habe den Verdacht, dass mein LAN-Port OS-unabhängig etwas cached, was er nicht machen soll.

    Irgendein Handshake mit dem Router scheint nicht zu laufen, weswegen mir keine IP zugeordnet wird (es klappt auch nicht bei statischen IP Adressen ohne DHCP-Aushandlung).
    Derzeit habe ich Linux Mint installiert, aber es klappt auch nicht mit anderen Distributionen. Der Network Manager scheint ja oftmals der gleiche zu sein.

    Ich kann das Problem umgehen, indem ich einen WLAN Stick nehme und ich habe Live Versionen von Mint und anderen Distris mit meinen anderen Geräten getestet und die kriegen problemlos eine IP über LAN.
    -> LAN-Kabel scheint zu funktionieren
    -> LAN-Port am Router auch
    -> grundsätzlich ist der Router nicht komisch konfiguriert und gibt IP Adressen raus

    Wo wir aber jetzt in die Twilight-Zone kommen:

    Unter Windows (ist ein Dualbootsystem) läuft es problemlos über LAN. Nehme ich den Rechner vom Netz, kann Linux (wenn es als erstes gestartet wird) eine IP erhalten. Starte ich danach Windows oder geh ins UEFI-Setup, so erhalten diese beiden keine IPs mehr und faseln etwas von Netzwerkfehler. Starte ich zuerst Windows nachdem der Rechner vom Strom genommen wurde, klappt Windows, aber Linux danach nicht.
    -> Für mich bedeutet das, dass irgendwas cached oder sich nicht richtig resetet im LAN-Port

    Mein Motherboard ist ein Asrock H97 Pro 4

    Könntet ihr mir helfen das Problem zu lösen oder mir sagen welche Schritte ich unternehmen muss, um das Problem weitereinzugrenzen? Ein Kumpel hilf mir mal mit dem Problem, aber mehr als die Antwort, dass ein Handshake beim DHCP nicht beantwortet wird, konnte ich auch nicht herausfinden. Ich weiß auch nicht mehr welcher Handshake -.-

    Zeig doch mal bitte die Ausgabe von lspci -v | grep -A 10 -i net sowie ip a und ip link sowohl wenn das Netzwerk funktioniert, als auch wenn es das nicht tut. Außerdem wäre im Fehlerfall auch noch die Ausgabe von sudo dmesg und systemctl status network-manager.service ganz interessant. ... und kannst du im Fehlerfall mal prüfen ob sudo systemctl restart network-manager.service irgendwas bewirkt? Welches Mint setzt du genau ein? (Version)


    Und daaaaaaan hab ich noch eine ganz gewagte These. Ob das hier auch zutrifft, weiß ich nicht, weil ich das Mainboard nicht kenne. Die Entwickler des UEFI-Standards waren der Meinung, dass es doch eine tolle Idee wäre, wenn sich das Betriebssystem nicht mehr mit dem Netzwerk-Stack rum schlagen müsste. Schließlich braucht das ja eh jeder. Also kann man doch Layer 1 und 2 auch im UEFI abfrühstücken ... Ein Schelm wer hier Probleme erwartet.
    Diese Funktion ist aber für ein UEFI nicht zwingend und bei weitem nicht überall implementiert. Wenn, dann lässt es sich im UEFI aber meistens auch abschalten. Mal durchforsten, was da so an Netzwerk-Optionen drin steckt?


    Edith sagt, du sollst mal noch sudo journalctl -xe aufrufen, wenn das Problem besteht, und mal schauen ob du da etwas auffälliges findest. Leider lässt sich die Ausgabe davon schlecht kopieren und weiter reichen. Danke Lennart Poettering für nicht mehr vernünftig nutzbare Logs!

    Ergänzend: Ich würde auch im Zweifel mal den NetworkManager komplett deaktivieren und die Netzwerkkonfiguration testweise zu Fuß auf dem Terminal erledigen. Ich benutze immer 'ifconfig', aber inzwischen soll man ja diese schnieken neuen Tools verwenden. Pöh.

    Mit 'ethtool' kann man sich anzeigen lassen, ob auf Layer 1 und 2 alles stimmt (ist ein Link vorhanden, läuft die Schnittstelle im 10Mbit, 100Mbit oder Gbit-Modus, Full- oder Halfduplex, etc.) und ggf. korrigierend eingreifen, falls nur die Auto-Link-Negotiation nicht will.

    Mit 'lsmod' findet man heraus, welche Kernelmodule geladen sind. Ich nehme mal an, dass Mint die Ethernettreiber vernünftigerweise als Module konfiguriert hat. Für den angeblich auf deinem Board verbauten Intelchip müsste dass dann das Modul e1000 oder e1000e sein.

    Im Zweifel einfach 'sudo PAGER=cat journalctl -xe' nehmen oder den Befehl durch was anderes pipen.

    Ich fang mal an:

    Ja, ich glaub auch, dass da irgendein UEFI-Krams dazwischenfunken kann. Mein Motherboard hat auch eine Intel-Funktion, wo im Standby Mails gecheckt werden oder irgendwie sowas. Hab ich ausgeschaltet, aber ist ein guter Hinweis darauf, dass auch ohne geladenes OS am Netzwerk rumgespielt werden kann.

    Sidenote: Find ich komisch, dass es schon Linux Mint 19 gibt, aber ich krieg über die Aktualisierungsverwaltung keine Info darüber.

    Ich habe im Netzwerkmanager kabelgebundene Netzwerke komplett gelöscht. Das musste ich machen, weil beim Internetsurfen zuerst das Kabel genommen wird, gewartet wird bis es failt und danach auf das etablierte WLAN zugegriffen wird. Leider bei jedem einzelnen Seitenaufruf...daher hab ichs komplett rausgenommen aus dem Netzwerkmanager.

    Da wusste ich nicht, wie es sich verhält bzw. ich krieg ja nicht alles in einem Post unter. Kann ich ja nichts dafür, wenn du schon zu früh antwortest

    Hab grad nochmal im UEFI rumgeschaut und nichts gefunden. Der UEFI-Downloader hat auch keine Verbindung ins Internet herstellen können. Danach ist Linux wieder angesprungen und ich hab mal das Kabelnetzwerk aktiviert und war erstaunt, dass da stand, dass es eine Verbindung hergestellt hat laut Tray-GUI. Es ist aber so, dass ich darüber kein Internet kriege und er über WLAN geht. Ich hab hier trotzdem noch einmal ein paar Befehle ausgeführt:

    Ich glaube das sind letztlich die gleichen Ausgaben als würde es keinen Unterschied machen, wenn ich im laufenden Betrieb das LAN aktiviere. Ich werde jetzt trotzdem gleich den Rechner vom Strom nehmen und nebenbei schauen, was damals rausgekommen ist als ein Freund mir versucht hat zu helfen.
    Danach starte ich mit LAN-only und wir werden sehen, ob es klappt oder nicht und dann kann ich auch nochmal die ganzen Befehle reinposten.

    Schau mal durch die Optionen vom Network-Manager für deinen LAN-Anschluss, ob du da evtl irgendwo IPv4 abgeschaltet hast, oder auf statisch und keine IP vergeben, oder solche Späße.

    Ach genau, das hab ich vergessen zu sagen:
    Ich habe nichts an den Einstellungen geändert, so dass er automatisch über DHCP nach IPv4 und IPv6 sucht und anscheinend manchmal ne v6 auch findet.
    Ich habe ihn neugestartet nach dem der Strom weg war und nun hab ich Internet über LAN \o/
    Nebenbei hab ich in alten Chatlogs geschaut: Der Freund meinte ich kriege keine Antwort auf meinen DHCPDISCOVER. Könnte das eigentlich ein Problem von meinem Router sein, wenn er darauf nicht antwortet oder so antwortet, dass mein Linux es nicht versteht?

    Mir wurde auch eine IPv4 und eine IPv6 Adresse zugeordnet, er erkennt es als 1000mbit Leitung und alles ist toll. Ich wette wenn ich jetzt neustarten würde in Windows, würde Windows Internetprobleme haben -.-

    Im Zweifel einfach 'sudo PAGER=cat journalctl -xe' nehmen oder den Befehl durch was anderes pipen.

    Theoretisch gibt es arping, welches eine MAC-Adresse akzeptiert. Aber nicht alle Maschinen antworten einfach so auf ARP-Broadcasts, Layer 2 wird nicht geroutet, viele Switches filtern es sowieso aus, etc. etc.

    Da steckt viel "schwarze Magie" (um mal deine Worte zu benutzen) dahinter, von daher bezweifle ich, dass es dir weiterhilft.


    Einfachere Tests (die mir aus dem Stegreif einfallen) wären:
    • Mal mit dem Rechner neben den Router gehen und ein anderes Netzwerkkabel an einen anderen Port am Router anschließen.
    • Mal IPv6 komplett aus dem LAN verbannen. Im Router abschalten, auf den Linux-Maschinen abschalten, auf den Windows-Maschinen abschalten, auf den mobilen Geräten abschalten, etc. (kann bei DS-Lite evtl. Probleme mit dem Internet machen, aber wir wollen ja im Moment erstmal nur einen Link zum Router kriegen).
    • Mal den Router neustarten oder gar zurücksetzen.
    • Mal eine Netzwerkkarte in den Rechner stecken und damit testen (Gbit-Adapter für PCIe kriegt man für ~10 Euro hinterher geschmissen).
