    Hi to everyone.
    I recently installed 1.1.3 and now I updated to 1.1.4
    I experienced troubles with dx11, but I'll explain about in another post.

    For now I just have few questions:

    I signed with Bosper and learned how to make bows and arrows but I can't do anything at the bench because I miss the proper materials.

    Where do I find a trainer who can teach me woodcutting to saw trees and get materials for arrows?
    Where can I find or how can I obtain all materials required?

    Is there a list of who are the trainers and where they are?

    Without these informations how can a player plan his character?

    Hope someone can help

    I installed Gothic 2 Gold from GOG. Also installed:
    -gothic2_fix-2.6.0.0-rev2
    -Gothic2_PlayerKit-2.8
    -G2NoTR-SystemPack-1.7
    -GD3D11-X17_1 (actualized to 17_4)
    -L'Hiver 11 (LHE11_DE_15-05-18; also pasted normalmaps for it)
    -Crash fix (with 4gb_patch)

    Game works fine, but whatever I do it still throws this damn access violation error, randomly while saving game. Has anyone found a solution for this? Great game but due to these bugs drives me nuts

    EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also tried the trick with Data Execution Prevention - Didn't work.

    may be you should try to play without D3D11, because D3D11 is nonly alpha version, just a long way to go to become a(stable) beta. Sometimes it works good, and other times (or other hardware / software) it lets games crash, especially when you do a save.

    I think that you should explore the world and discover the things by yourself, and i mean even the new stuff added by the mod, 'cause this is how i think gothic should be played to love it at its maximum.
    I understand however that some players just want to know everything first and play it 'the easy way'. I can't remember every trainer but i'm pretty sure that Grom teaches you how to cut trees, and that's how you make the wood for the arrows, by chopping some special trees, you'll find them here and there!

    Thanks for your reply. I play Gothic saga since 2001, my preferred saga ever , and don't worry I know how this kind of games have to be played . I only recently installed modifications, I always have played vanilla.

    I was asking this question also in order to try to understand when the game is bugged or not

    I found Grom, i learned woodcutting, but when I try to saw a tree nothing happens

    So, I want to craft a bow and I need wood billets... Well, where the hell are they??

    That's the main reason...

    around the world there are trees that look different than others, mainly more green slender ones, that you can cut down. when you did that you can go to a treesaw thats next to Grom for example and produce billets needed for Bows and Arrows. such a tree is near the bandit camp behind Sekob's farm, easy to miss first time playing i'd say.

    Dont use d3d 17.4 .
    Try using one of this versions on d3d11:

    I had some problems with the normalmaps some time ago but when loading the game it was crashing not on saving, maybe try to delete the folder and see if it helps ?

    I can't think of something else to help you atm.

    Edit: Also maybe you are loading an older savegame and getting crashes when u save again, try testing only with a new game. So this way atleast you know that the savegame is not corrupted or something.

    I started new game as you suggested and it had worked fine at the beginning but it started to throw errors anyway after some time. Also when saving. I give up...

    EDIT: I had memfix already installed.

    hey dorian
    pls try to disable antialiasing in your driver settings. (it was set to 8xAA)
    just disable it
    this solved the crash while saving problem for me

    Try again, but use the D3d11 version here:

    I've played through twice without a problem. Seems very stable to me. (Windows 10x64) Also, it's not so much "DX11"--but as the name "GD3D11" implies, it's D3d11--the 3d hardware accelerated API, Direct 3d. Therefore, the 3d accelerator you use (Intel, AMD, or nVidia) will play a major role, so make sure you are running the latest drivers for your 3d card. (Intel GPUs are problematical.)

    However, the nature of your bug--which I haven't seen--makes me think something in your software configuration is slightly awry. But try the D3d11 version linked above--good luck! Works for me!

    Edit: It occurs to me that you may need to run the game as an Administrator, if you are not doing so already. Just right-click the G2 exe shortcut, select properties, and select "Run as administrator," and then click OK and you are done. Your type of error is the kind of error I have seen when trying to save a file from a program the OS requires must have administrative privileges to save, which has no such privileges--so check that out. Also, very important: *do not* under any circumstances install the game to c:\program files (x86)--installing it on another drive or partition altogether is preferred--but if all you have is C:\ then install the game in C:\Gothic2 L'Hiver, or whatever you may name it...! Hope these suggestions help.

    Is there a list of who are the trainers and where they are?

    Without these informations how can a player plan his character?

    Very simple answer--talk to everyone you meet or see--and your list of trainers will become apparent. When you get into town then you will have to choose a profession for yourself--so, first things first. What you are worried about will become evident as you play.

    Hello, havent tried the mod in a about a year. how is the balancing now? Last time I played Two-Handed Paladin when I came back to the mines the Orcs were OP and I had to kite and hide behind trees to be able to survive.

    dont know if you fixed bug from missing stuff in 1.1.4 base... but if anyone still playing 1.1.3 base with 1.1.4 scripts and is trying to find "Grave moss" i got updated list from what i found...

    Spoiler:(zum lesen bitte Text markieren)
    grave moss is used for recipe that is in vatras house... for each potion you need 1 grave moss and 5 skeleton bones and once you drink it you get 5 more protection against blade/blunt/projectiles

    -at dead harpy tavern near teleporter... 3 molerats there
    -lighthouse and akil farm... in middle of them where the elite orc is... 3 zombies at that graveyard
    -near stone circle in the woods where you go with lares to get ornament... close to there is burned down place also a gin cave (wine celler-where you need molerat fat to open)in middle of lizards basicly
    -in a cave where dragon slicer is... near black troll... 2 paladin skeletons inside as well
    -in a crypt near onar farm... king sorrell inside as well
    -new part of map from onar to the end of the road where 2h "hammer of justice" is... 2x grave moss there

    in valley of mines i found 4:
    -new path from old mine to the beach... skeletons there
    -place you need to go for getting "cor angor" amulet
    -down abit from that cave you get "cor angor" amulet is also few orcs/warg they have 1 grave moss as well (troll near there in chapter 4)
    -in cave silvestro mining group (full of minecrawlers)

    in jharqndar:
    1x is in guardians of the dead temple... full of zombies inside
    1x where you fight raven
    1x where you summon quhodrom

    Yeah I also wonder this, is there any plans to fix the last bugs reported here and also fix the whole "1.1.3 base with 1.1.4 scripts" confusing mixing, and also lower the minimum damage just slightly by like 5 or so as requested.

    In short, are there any plans to work on a 1.1.5 "final fix" soon? Feels like the updates on this mod have all but died. Would be great to hear from Masty on this
