WHERE IS THE GURU?
I now fixed my problems with c++! But now i have a new problem. Whan i start G3, a window apears, that says:
Wher is the guru?

Now, i have 1.5gb ram cos i buyed another 512, And i have 20gb free memory on my C drive, where I installed Gothic 3!

Its suggesting that you either need to update your graphics driver or your graphics card.
That function is an API feature of Graphics cards that support Shader model 1.4 or higher.
If you've got a Ti4200 Geforce for example, then sadly that only goes to shader model 1.3 and there's no way around it

Its a R300 derivate which means it got SM2 capabilities. It should run the game, but not optimally.

Hi sleeper and others this is my first post here but Ive been reading a long time here on the forums.
I didn't expect my pc to run the game with only 760 Ram and others, and I also have this strange thing.
CAN SOMEBODY SOLVE THIS MYSTERIOUS BUG???

My friend had the same problem, but he tryed to run a pirated version, so I suggest it is some protection from hackers.

I have this wired thing popup….
I have the CE and this error get up with some time I have play it a lot (lazy job)
I have got it like 5 times this week and 3 times have it died of something else…
So I did save the error and here it is… and there is one wired bug why crossbow have some error with the ammo is say it don’t have any even if I have hundreds...

hi, ive had this problem before.
it seems to go away if u have installed the patch en reinstal it in the control screen wich changes all video settings to default.
i dont know if it changes if u still have to install the patch
i think it has to do with restarting the game with settings ur card cant handle.

Well i got the same thing , i have a x1900xt card, and im getting this msg on a crash, the games crashes and enters this window

I get the same "Where's the Guru?" message, but for me I'm convinced that it's because I'm out of RAM.
I have a 1GB RAM system (with a 256MB GeForce 6800GS). If I leave task manager running before I start the game and leave Gothic 3 to crash with this error, Task Manager reports that I have 0 MB RAM free. So I am obviously crashing because there is no more RAM to have.

im on a core 2 duo e6600 2,4ghz @ 3.0ghz with 2gig ddr2 800mhz ram

hi again,
i got this error when trying to enable shaders 3.0 and depth in field
when i restarted i got this "where is the guru"
i had the patch allready installed
so what i did , go to Control panel in windows
then add and remove sofware
the patch should be listed like all the other stuff u installed
uninstal it, and download it again.
afther that the settings should be back to normal as they go back to default
wich worked in my case

Please don't dig up such old threads, better start a new topic.
In general: mobile GPUs are not supported officialy.
And "Where is the Guru" isn't an error, it's just the name of the error-window.
Also there are patches since then, the official 1.12 and the community 1.5, download here:

So, if you need help, please make a new topic, and post your system and the exact error.
