It looks very amazing. I think that your mod has more potential than it was originally in the sequel. You are able to surpass the talent and creativity of the ex-piranhas. [Bild: s_064.gif]
I'm happy that you're back. Thank you for these kind words. Have you seen our website? A bit of new material there.

Yes, I reread the whole topic starting in November 2017. I spent the last year in the army and missed a lot. The site is really very good, but I would also like to see the Orpheus project and perhaps a collection of screenshots of alpha versions.

Orpheus would be on the site, if we could reach Issues somehow to discuss everything. But hes gone a few months now. Hope he comes back soon.
Concerning the Alpha material: We have a big "pre-release-archive" at hand and I plan to share it in the Orpheus subpage. I want to show how Gothic looked like once and which vision inspired us, so that you can understand what was done for Orpheus, including some screenshot comparisons to see the detail of some of our reconstructions.

But at the moment we focus on Nyx.

    Hey Leute.

Wir melden uns mit einem verspäteten November-Update zurück.
Zwei kleine Screenshots, die ein bisschen was neues zeigen.

Nice! My attention focused on blue guard armor... Can you say something about that?

    Welcome in the forum, Lesterro.

Yes of course. The red guard armor as you know it from Gothic or the Alpha/Orpheus (in which the color is a bit different, as shown here), was once the armor used by the prison guards, which were soldiers of the myrtanian legion. Gomez just tore the patches off, showing the sign of the king, and gave them his own guards. After the player's massacre in the castle, after the death of all ore barons, after the fall of the magic barrier and the escape from the valley, the remaining shadows took the castle over. Together with the refugees from the Khorinis' surroundings, which are mostly poor workers forced to work in the great Ore-Factories in Khorinis and living in the Slums in front of the City, they build a new order in the now so called Refugee Camp, which is, to say the least, extremely critical both of the King as of the Ore-Barons. To keep some order in the Camp, the Shadows established a Militia and to distinguish them from the old, hated guardsmen and their exploitation, they started to overdye the fabrics into blue (like their own blue shadow clothing), something which will be displayed in Nyx as the other crafts too.

Hope everything is understandable and I didn't make that much mistakes. We are always glad if there is some new interest and questions coming in.

Hey, I have another questions. First: In your lore is New Camp destroyed (like in Gothic: Sequel)? Second: To what extent you rely on Gothic Der Comic? What about magic ore for example - will be blue or green like in comic? Or age of magic barrier - 20 years, like in comic? Greetings

    Hi Lesterro,

    Let me answer your questions:

First: In your lore is New Camp destroyed (like in Gothic: Sequel)?
Given the fact that the whole colony was hit by cataclysmic thunderstorms and earthquakes when the magical barrier collapsed, you can definitely expect a lot of changes in many locations. The former New Camp is no exception to that and we are definitely inspired by the Sequel's concepts here. However, since we give most of the Sequel's ideas our own spin too, we'll also have quite a few surprises in stock regarding the New Camp. Rest assured that there'll be more to discover than just a few destroyed huts and a desolate valley.

Second: To what extent you rely on Gothic Der Comic? What about magic ore for example - will be blue or green like in comic? Or age of magic barrier - 20 years, like in comic?
The Gothic Comic is an important source of lore for us, so you can expect that we'll pay a lot of attention to the details depicted there. In our timeline, the magical barrier was about 22 years old, when the nameless hero brought about its end (which is in line with the Comic and in-game dialogues found in Gothic 1). Whenever there are discrepancies like the different colors of magical ore (green in the Comic, blue in the game), we try to come up with lore-friendly explanations and display or explain them in the game. The ore and its magical properties will be explored further in Nyx' story and you'll be able to meet a scholar giving you some insights on the different kinds of magical ore.

    Hey. Great questions.

The New Camp was destroyed like planned in the Sequel, but some people are back there (which was also planned) and they have build some things anew in the 6 months since the fall of the barrier. But I don't want to spoil too much.

We try to bring everything in harmony between the Gothic Alpha, the Handbook, the Comic and the Sequel, but lore and style of the Alpha is always priority nr. 1. And if we are in a situation, in which we need to decide whether we follow this or that, we follow the Alpha. There is nothing in all these sources which contradicts the lore of the Comic, which states, that the barrier is 20 years old. Therefore it is 20 years (+ 2) old in Orpheus and Nyx too.

There are a few other things in the Comic, like the mentioning of "Ra", which are not as easy to bring in harmony with the given lore of Gothic 1, but we have achieved this too and I think we have achieved it in a way, which will be satisfying for you. We also follow the Comic for example in the question of look and feel of the city of Khorinis. In Nyx you will not have the opportunity to visit the city, but it will get mentioned, envisioned and so on and you will know that it is much bigger and entirely different from the city presented in Gothic 2.

To answer your last question concerning the ore: The green ore in the comic was a bit of a problem concerning the fact, that it is blue in the game. But we have an explanation for this in the game. There is a reason why some ore is blue, why some ore is red and why some ore is green.

edit: Haha, too late. Two answers for you.
