hey, is there something like a manual or some collected information about the new features/whats different from the original? i read stuff like fatigue/thirst etc. is a thing and i read somewhere, that this version changes actually like 80% of the gameplay. so basically im looking for something like a list, where i can see everything thats new and significantly affects the gameplay.

Also, does anyone have any tips on a Fire Magician build? I keep dying constantly and it's getting really tiring. I'm level 8 right now, still not a Fire Magician and it just feels like I'm making little to no progress whatsoever. What should I be investing in?
Furthermore, having found this https://dierueckkehr.weebly.com/modifikationen.html, and seeing the mod's features in German, it states two things that seem to be missing from the English version:
- contains 2 selectable difficulty levels (Short)
- contains some simple scripts that make playing easier, eg. a Sheepskin for Sleeping in the Wild (Marcello)
Are those features meant to be added in the English version eventually or have I completely missed them somehow? If it's the latter, I apologize.
Last but not least, I would like to thank you guys for willing to completely remove enemy HP regeneration in the next version (for me the game is unplayable with it as a mage) and I would also like to suggest - as many others did - that the "25 minimal damage" is another deal-breaker that needs to be fine-tuned because it really makes armor feel useless, at least in the first stages of the game. If you don't want to either fine-tune it or remove it, could you please tell me how to set it to the default 10?
I am, by no means, trying to insult you or your work. I absolutely love this mod and I'd play it to death if those 2 features were removed and changed, respectively. Here's hoping for a quick 1.1.2 release so I can finally play as a mage properly!
the hardest is to start as a mage... now i dont know if you want to be a pure mage or warrior mage like me... going after one handed sword with magic to deal with some situations... if you didnt get into monastery yet and trying to collect money/sheep you can go to vatras and he will help you join community, but you must pick fire magicions and not other 2 options... that way you dont have to pay 1k gold and sheep to enter monastery
if you are stuck with leveling, you can always take lares to diffrent places and he will kill most of the stuff, you can even lure some animals near the route so he kills them
if you picked the mod where you dont have hunger... and you want to be pure mage, just invest into mana and save some LP (like 20-30) for circles/spells that you learn after you join mages rank... gather all the small mushrooms-> 50 of them = 5 pernament mana (buy and learn from constantino... if constantino not your master then just learn first level of mana potion from someone else and then go back to constantino, he will teach you further)
if you are warrior mage, then just make mana like 30-40 from LP and the rest you get from mushrooms and other means like praying to innos gives you 20 mana (you can save/reload before shrine to get only mana and not "innoss thanks you for gold"), reading some book (i think both constantino and book keeper (above constantino) sell it)... getting mostly hp and 2 mana i think for donating 50 to fire mage in city (just keep donating 50)... +rings and amulet from DLC (raven part) once put together give 40 mana (i think they are called priest amuler/ring)... and then there is also weapon which gives mana that you buy from trader in monastery (i think best weapon gives 30 mana not to mention beast range and okey damage to kill any orc)... maybe 2 beers from coragon give some mana/hp also... so this way you get 160 mana quite easy (with 160 mana you get mana regeneration, which is amazing... but alot of small mushrooms needed .............. but ye you basicly spending LP into str and weapon as warrior mage and its quite beast... there are situations where weapon is much better then magic... (orcs for example) and magic better then weapon (troll for example)
anyway no matter what you pick after you become a mage you need to get healing spell and goblin skeleton spell... the rest is your choice but waste of LP if you ask me, since you never have enouf mana
if you are novice already and have hard time with monastery then google is your friend... but basicly if someone offers you a spell scroll then TAKE IT!!! because 100% someone else in monastery needs it... or you will need it (sleep scroll) to take the mighty hammer
well no more spoilers... rest you figure out on yourself... i hope i gave you few tips
1 more tip... if you are asking yourself about where to get all this gold? well i was mostly getting it from selling skins to bosper, or picking locks
now onto your second thingy you said... if enemys dont have regeneration when out of range/sight from player then being mage would be way way way to easy... you would just throe a few fireballs and run away after 1 dies... and for enemy to hit you minimal 25 or whatever is fine also... considering you have ALOT of hp later, im level 25 and i got above 400 hp already... so if they hit me minimal they need to hit me above 16 times (i craft my own armor and considering that you can kill enemy in 1 or 2 swings with sword (talking about enemys that do only minimal damage) is quite balanced... just need to get used to it.... brutal at start ofc but you need to know that you cant just win most fights right of the start... thats why i like this game, you need to know what you can handle and when..
this mod difficulty is not for first timers i quess, but very good for second time. for me its perfect, much more balanced then original.

Man, I really really love this mod. I play the english version, because the changes in the german one seems dumb and uninteresting to me. Who wants a dark valley of mines... who wants nerfed stone plates... who wants to have the whole gameplay turned around? No, I love gothic as it is. And I especially love the "package system" that comes with this mod. Like you install a base version and then on top you put some other stuff, like this annoying hunger system, if you want it. Or you just leave that out and install the other version, very nice!
The only thing I do not like is the amount of "nudity". The title screen looks like a porn image, way to oversexualized. And that most of the women in the game show their tits that much makes it a bit a bummer to me. This just has no realistic touch, if you ask me. You don't imagine a world like that, where all the poor people seem to care about is showing what they got. Except for the girls in bromors house, of course.
Apart from that, I really love the changes so far. Literally everything in this mod is great. The buildings, Khorinis itself, the paths and ways and the vegetation. Also the new fight settings. I especially like that one doesn't have to hold back with potions until he is strong enough. You can just drink it without worrying about your LPs.
I know that a lot of stuff is imported from other mods, but the collection really is great. It seems that only good stuff made it in. Their content and foreign content.
I hope that the performance can improve. In some areas I have a blue flickering, which is very annoying. But yet I only had one crash (or two?) and that was, when I set both view distances to 300%, lol. Everything fine inside xardas tower, then you go out and as soon as you look to the forrest, you have an instant freeze.

The german version is actually the NotR script with small changes. The english/russian version however is a complete overhaul and changes nearly everything, some thing to the better I think. It's more like a new adventure than replaying GothicII over and over again. Besides the valeey - Having a green valley where few weeks ago dragons just burnt it down, well here comes the logic.
I do agree on the cleavage part though, I don't understand it either. I think they took a lot of inspiration of witcher, but besides of the sorceresses, I don't recall the women to be so slutty.
I'm still waiting for the 1.1 version however, if it ever comes out.

Logicwise, ppl might agree. But I like a colorful world better and it's not that dragons burnt down the WHOLE valley. :P In the end, the ice dragon spits fire too but there is nothing molten in his cave.
But I'm not there yet, I actually am not that far, but so far very excited.
I'm still waiting for the 1.1 version however, if it ever comes out.

He probably means 1.1.2. We are all waiting for it but the mods seem to have gotten stuck sadly. It was very active around here some months ago and then it stopped. Really hope we get 1.1.2 out soon, then they can abandon further development if they want, I just want the upcoming fixes and Free Aim seems cool, but not super-important to delay the release forever

I actually can't imagine "free aim" for gothic. It's kind of an RPG aspect to rely on the characters skill and not on the players, to some point. I could like it, if improving the skill would decrease the spread. Meaning, that when you aim perfectly, the better your skill, the closer the arrow will hit to where you aim.
Is 1.1.2 only about bugfixes? Are there some major ones I should be aware of?

there is already a working "free aim" patch, thats working for vanilla gothic and many mods. you can check it out already.
about the 1.1.2 check the first post, there is a pre-release changelog for 1.1.2

Yes I meant 1.1.2 of course. As Sagrido said, free aim should not be the reason to delay it and I agree with you, it should be left to the PC skill not the human skill behind it. I hope you can turn it off, if 1.1.2 is released with it.
The guys said that 1.1.2 is actually ready but they just waiting for a guy to finish the implementation of free aim, so .

I would like to ask, if there is a way to fix shield animation problem (when character draws a shield sometimes it stays on his back, while Nameless holds his empty left hand in shield position) without turning off DX11?
DX11 makes game looks better for me, and, more importantly, it's the only effective way for me to use Nvidia Laptop Card at the moment (other common options seems to have no effect). My built-in graphics card cannot manage this mod.
Also I would like to give my thanks to communtiy for the ongoing support of this mod, its great

have you tried the dgvoodoo tool? i had the same problem (my nvidia card not being used for gothic without using the renderer) and could fix it with this tool. so basically i was able to run gothic with my nvidia card without using a renderer by using the dgvoodoo tool. you can google it and should find some instructions

I've tried it, but the version I've found has an very intrusive dgvoodoo logo that just did't want to disappear. I was very annoyed. If you can advise me with a version of this fix that has no logo in it (or just assure me that there is somewhere version without logo), I'll give it another try
I've remembered one more thing: Can I somehow turn on the Steam overlay in the game? (as I understand, for proper start I should use only Gothic.exe)

you can disable the logo in the settings. at least you could with the version i used. i dont think there are different versions though.

A lot of strange things are happening at the moment. Before I continue with a broken save, please help me out.
I went to the water mages with Lares and brought Saturas the Ornament. Then I went to Myxir and he teached me all 3 levels of languages for free instantly (in basically one dialog option). Nefarius didn't give me the quest to find the 3 other ornaments and Medarion didn't give me the key for the teleportation-stone (there are 3 of those).
Is this normal? Or do those thing depend on some action? I talked with Saturas and Riordian. I don't see what would be left there.

I didn't talk to Mixer and got all the quests the usual way. May be you should try to reload and speak with all of them (Saturas => Riordian => Merdarion => Nefarius) without Mixer? Stone tablets are no more, may be it's some kind of bug...
I would like to ask several questions about gameplay too
- Could you advice me some easy accessible ore sources in the NewWorld? I have found only in
, but there were only one that contains ore (two were empty). To be honest, it felt like a mockery (just like 12 (twelve!) combinations chests in the Xardas tower that contains pure garbage). This feeling - that game (and author) are making evil laugh on me - accompanies me all the way.
- Is there a key to the Xardas chest at the top of the tower?
- Am I right that there is no scrolls of massive spells like Storm or Fire Rain in the 1 chapter (or begining of the 2 chapter) for militia? I didn't find anything on sale. I just HATE to lose EXP for the Dexter bandits (while Greg killing them), but without magic it seems to be the only way - I'm not strong enough to fight even two bandits at the same time...
P.S. It seems I have accidentally deleted my post at the first time. Sorry.
Upd. I found Storm scroll in the second chapter, but some tips on powerful scrolls are still welcome)

Hello, I can unfortunately only help you marginally (because I've put this version on ice) but you can't find any strong scroll during chapter one - this especially sucks because of dexters base, but keep in mind that the world has become larger and there are a lot more exp to gain.
There are a few gameplay changes which might give you a few WTF moments - fighting a troll for example. And don't bother too much with chests, you won't find anything useful there - well most of the time anyways. Even smiting your own weapon and armor won't make you a "god" like in the original build, you'll always be vulnerable.

About the teleporters, I think you have to use the one near Khorinis first and talk about it to Lares or Orlan. After that you should have an option in Nefarius dialog to talk about the teleporters and you should get the key.
Did you put the ornament into the stone? You should put the ornament into the pedestal first and then you should get the quest to find the missing ones.
Myxir and the language are completely useless, as the stone plates are gone.

Into which stone? Next to the portal door? Can't do that since I gave saturas the ornament.
