Zitat von NicoDE
For several features the material and animation format of the ZenGin has been extended. The development of G2 started from the 1.08 source code again (the player controls and the inventory changes have been implemented a second time). Therefore the binary files are neither compatible with G1, nor G2.
Wow, why was so much of the Sequel ditched?

If you think it's still reasonable, we can remove all posts talking about the leak. But you should take into account that even before the leak, at least few dozen people were sharing it with each other, among them ones not related to modding community or even general fan base. It's all there. You just have to find it.

It is a pity they ditched Gothic Sequel. It had so many new features, compared to Gothic 2 / Gothic 2 Gold.
In what was already implemented in Gothic Sequel, the player could
- craft more weapons (less in Gothic 2)
- cook food (15 plates, none in Gothic 2)
- craft arrows (not in Gothic 2)
- craft bows (not in Gothic 2)
- melt ore to Raw Steel (don't know why ore, but still nice; not in Gothic 2)
- saw wood (the mobsi and ani are in Gothic 2, but the player has no use for it)
- craft armor? (the player can interact with the armorstand mobsi; not in Gothic 2)
- a test helmet makes me think that helmets were planned (not in Gothic 2)
- potion alchemy and craft runes (those two are in Gothic 2; still, in Gothic Sequel the player can craft blank runes)
- hack ore (also in Gothic 2 Gold)
- fight in the arena (and so well done, not the silly duels you can have in Gothic 2 with some shady character in the harbor town...)
What new features had Gothic 2? New spells, and you could pray to shrines.
Beside this, the style, the dialog lines, are much darker, one who loved Gothic 1 would like those more than what can be seen in Gothic 2. And there are some cool armors...
What great potential had this unfinished Gothic Sequel.
edit: I was wrong about praying.. the player could pray to an Sleeper Idol..

Neuling
the animations in Sequel were way more complex, too. the overall talent learning was big fun, as you had to constantly talk with your master and learning by that following steps of e.g. weapon crafting.
i wonder why the developers ditched actual NEW features and decided to go with just a prettier G1.
P.S. demons>dragons

Because the developers of the Sequel aren't the developers of Gothic 2, hadn't the same vision and obviously weren't caring that much for the Gothic lore. But we fans do and therefore we can accomplish what they couldn't or did'nt want to do.

Also hauptsächlich Erkundungs- und Inventar- Stöberzeit.

Well well well..
I had a bug when I arrived with Thora at the Castle. The first two of the guards would let me through. The Second two though would set off an Alarm,
and I had to kill them using 'Marvin' 'Kill' xD Maybe the Alarm triggered the King to 'disappear'
But why do you have other sort of curtains behind the king, at the wall ?

Correct me if I'm wrong,
What MaGoth showed here is the lastest known build, the build that leaked is a bit earlier than the one shown above.
Although you can cheat the king and the fire mage into the game in this build but they don't have any interactions.

Np^
Also here is a list of some unused npcs in this build, I'm sure there is a lot more unused stuff!
-
-
Npcs:
Dmc_801_demonic
Pal_1000_rhobar
Pal_1001_hagen
aprototype
bprototype
kdf_1100_catamaol
kdf_1101_feoras
kdf_1102_morogh
kdf_1103_nereus
kdw_1400_saturas
And by the way, Morogh has a quest applied to him but I have yet to activate it.

The mountain fort can be easily restored, editing the zen file with a spacer of 1.50 is possible.
For 2 hours of work in the spacer, you can make a much more elaborate mountain fort than in a modernized build, but who will do it?
