[Deutsche Version]
Rimy3D is a program for opening and converting 3D models. It enables you to create your own models for items, armory and monsters in Risen. Creating new level meshes with proper collision and texture blending is also possible. Furthermore, you can view and edit Risen materials.
Features:
- Import and export of the Risen file formats for 3D models (._xmsh ._xmac ._xcom)
- Import and export of common 3D file formats (.3ds .obj .ase)
- Experimental import of Risen 3 meshes (.r3msh) [by George]
- Material editor for Risen materials (._xmat)
- Automatic loading of materials and textures for 3D models from Risen (if the search paths are configured correctly)
- Batch conversion
- Plugins for the 3D applications GMax, Blender and 3ds Max
- Extensive documentation (also available online here)
- User interface available in English and German
(Moreover, some file formats from Gothic 1, Gothic 2 and Gothic 3 are supported.)
Please note: When creating models for Risen you need to consider a couple of things that are explained in the documentation. These include:
3D file format Take note of Risen Mesh (._xmsh) Display of the correct textures, resource registration, sunlight reflection, texture blending Risen Motion Actor (._xmac) Display of the correct textures, skinning Risen Collision Mesh (._xcom) Physic materials, convexity

Wow! Sounds good. Will you create tool like this for Risen 3? I know - this is not possible, but... maybe it is...
-
Thanks to George you can open Risen 3 meshes (.r3msh) in Rimy3D but saving them is not possible as of yet.

The .r3msh import is by George, so maybe you can try and convince him to create an exporter as well.
(I probably won't do it.)

Wie sieht es heute nach gut einem Jahr aus? Gibt es evtl. etwas Neues womit man auch Modelle von Risen 2 und 3 öffnen und z.B. als Obj-Datei speichern kann?
