You won't be surprised, that this armor is a part of Nyx already.
But of course not for something like "Novices of Fire". No such thing in our lore.

I did know that armor. There are screenshots of this armor on WoG since pre-release, as shown below. There will be definitely no G2 section on the website. But a handful of G2 screens in relation to the sequel are possible.

I don't know more about the Alpha version but what Vanaa has pointed out here:

Except a few details. There was thought to be an alchemist named "Velax". We use this name. The waypoints of Thorben and Bosper are interchanged, so it might be that it was planned for Thorben to be in the hut of Bosper and for Bosper to be in the hut of Thorben. Jack was sitting on another bench etc. But that shouldn't be our concern here for Nyx.

Ich bin echt heiß auf das Gothic Sequel. Das gute alte G1 Feeling war wirklich einzigartig. Eine Fortsetzung dessen wäre wirklich was feines.
Ich hoffe das euer Projekt eines Tages das Tageslicht erblicken wird.

The scavenger you posted is something like a scavenger chick. A baby scavenger, just released from the scavenger mummy, with lots of hairs. In Orpheus (and probably Nyx too) we use it for the first steps in the game as a weaker version of the scavenger. A full-grown scavenger would be too hard to fight at the beginning.
