I've activated the Marvin mode, but when I click f2 the screen turns all black and returns to the game after. Do I have to do something more?

Hi there, I too am interested in using Marvin mode. I like to play for real but it is interesting to just have a look around without having to worry about fighting dying. However, I cannot understand how to make Marvin work. In the previous Gothics you did C for character screen, typed "marvin" and then did F2. However, if you go into the Character screen typing just moves you around the map, inventory etc. How do you get to the console?

first edit the notepad file inside the ini file in ur gothic 3 folder called ge3 and search to where it says
[game]
Testmode=false and change it to
Testmode=true

type "bmarvinb" without the quotes. | opens console on Norwegian keyboards but ^ on german I think. Try both | is left to 1.

I really want add gold to work as I want to try out the shit expensive armors

Thanks for the help but when I do as suggested I get a console which does not show properly and is torn and reflects the picture below. If I type I cannot see the letters just blocks and of course it does not take effect.

Any ideas please, all would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks Trion, confirm that is exactly what I get as well.

Although I cannot see the words I am typing I can make the console command take effect. Which is okay for something like "gode mode" but anyone wanting to do anything like add a missing item it could be difficult.

Just write:
Marvin

After that, press the `~ key to open the console. (american keyboard layout)
You'll know when you've opened the console, trust me.

ok in standart control when i type marvin it just open some status windows and doesnt activate anything. (as i for inventory and so go on)

Can I use this Marvin mode thing to respawn an important NPC who have disappeared from my game (king rhobar)?

And if I can, will the quest work properly with this new rhobar-clone?

The command is "kill" .... i guess the NPC should be in focus.

Well on a UK keyboard i can get the console mode up, even though i dont see the console, enough that i can toggle god mode but thats about it.
However if i press CTRL + Space then bring up the console mode something appears, but you cant read anything as it's all corrupted.
So look like im having sort of the same problem as a few of the other people in this post

So can anyone create me a save game, with a few of the cheats already set up as i screwed up my original character by doing some quests out of order and by killing some NPC's. Like an idiot i only saved my game using quicksave

If anyone can help me i need a character with a Swords upto 2, heavy weapons 1, shields 1, crossbows 1, all the skinning and teeth collecting, sneak up on animals, game hunter, alchemy 1, Excuses, pickpocket 1, potions - hp and mana, sneak 1

Plus about 50k gold

any help much appreciated.
