- "The players character can be defined" (which I assume means you can still customize appearance)
- No Russian translation is planned
- Price of CoT is $9.99 USD
- Dar Pha "
- "The Engine update will have some effects to the vanilla game - like higher resolution of the GUI, better view range and some improvements of the lights/shadows. But, the 3D objects and maps of TW2 will not be changed. In the new DLCs we use more hires 3D Objects. What effect it will have to mods [such as Worldmerge] is difficult to say. But we will check it in beta stage."
- Both single player DLCs will be self-contained stories and separate from the base game, and they both take place in new locations/islands
- Shattered Embrace will feature elves. No dwarves will appear in either DLC.
- The Hero still has no name.
- Elkronas will still be inaccessible in single player.
- There will be new music for CoT made by Dominika Barabas (her site: http://www.barabas.com.pl/), and some additional tracks by John Moyer (bassist of Disturbed)
- The multiplayer DLC will be called 'Echoes of the Dark Past'. It will consist of co-op Adventure maps.
- Lucius Darx will not be returning. However, some characters from TWII will be returning.
- You can import an existing character, or create a new one specifically for the DLC
- Echoes of the Dark Past has no set price, but Raidor has said it might cost around $2 or $3.
- "a 25 head team (plus outsourcing) is working since January [2016] on the whole new releases", so Reality Pump isn't messing around
- some explanations as to why development is taking longer than expected:
"We will definitly make DLCs for TWII and TWIII will have a differnt, non properitary engine - e.g. UE4. In February it was the plan to make 2 DLCs to be released in May and in August. Now we have end of August, nothing is ready and the first DLC is bigger than both together have been planned. We know that, but if I tell you some of the reasons, it will be hard to belive. 4 weeks we lost, because of 110 db noise in the office - 3 weeks we lost, because of an unexpected movement of the office (but we found a much better office now) - the next 2 weeks we lost because the whole city of Krakow was blocked during the visit of the pope and the world youth day. ... that's how things go."
- Another block of text about the difference between Topware and Reality Pump, and some other games:
"TopWare Interactive is a publishing label and not a company. And Reality Pump is a developer label and not a company. Sacrilegium and Scivelation are two projects, which have been stopped during the development. Probably one or both will be restarted and finished, probably not. Raven's Cry had many problems, but the game is in the current stage "Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry" not as bad as most people who never payed it say about it. We will fix the remaining bugs as soon as we have purchased back the partial IP rights, which owns Zuxxez Entertainment AG, from the legal receiver. I am sure everybody understands, that we do not work on a game, which we do not fully own. The new DLCs for Two Worlds II will be finished and released, but we cannot say exactly when. Regarding the engine we will use for TW3, we have not made a decision by now. But working on the TW2 engine and improve it for TW3 is not an option."
- TWII will be ported to Linux.
- TWIII has a tentative release date of 2019.
- Both the base game and CoT will have achievements. I'm not sure about PotFF, but I think it's safe to say it will too.
- No new polearms, no throwing weapons, and no new traps
- Modding tools will be made available. They "plan a workshop sdk."
- On disabling the gamepad: "It used to be a feature required for G4W certification. We need to check, if it is still a requirement for the MS Live certification."
- The new island(s) that the DLC takes place on will be a new game world, and can't be sailed to.
- There may or may not be rifles.
- The DRM will be removed once the update is out. EDIT 3: And it will be replaced with DLM, a less intrusive alternative (not new info, but forgot to mention it earlier). Here is a direct quote from Raidor explaining the differences:
"DLM means Digital License Management. It does not require activation or registration, but a serial key is provided, which is a proof of license ownership. This key allows independent from the store, where the game is purchased to receive updates or crossgrades (e.g. move the game from Steam to GOG or move a retail version into the steam account). This serial key also grants the account on the Multiplayer Servers and to sell the game. The difference to the old DRM system is that no activation is required and the serial key does not need to be entered manually. As long as someone does not want anything beside playing the game, it is not required to do anything. The DLM is only visible, because the serial key is shown by the steam client while game starts. We recommend to (optional) register the game, because if the key gets lost or simply everything gets lost, we offer registered users to restore everything. - Please imagine an eMail "I purchased 2005 the game Earth 2160 in Russian Retail. Can you please enable the Linux version released 2 weeks ago in my Steam account? - in this case we need the serial key, or if the customer registered the game, we need nothing, because we can ask him for his Birth Date or something else. But as said - this service is optional."
- No updates are planned for village mode.
- You can't pre-order the DLC on Steam, only the Topware Shop
- Some musings from Raid or about a bunch of game development stuff (brackets are Steam user questions):
[Polish team make games without polish language? Or maybe this is no more polish team?]
"Reality Pump is located in Crakow. Most team members are Polish. But the source language for our games is English. Polish would be a translation like any other language."
[Interesting. Why exactly is that? I mean I'd think the source language would be the one spoken in the country.]
"This has many reasons. First of all, if the dialogues would be first in Polish, no one (including me) who does not speak Polish could play a alpha or beta before everything is translated to English. The translation from Polish to all other languages is much more complicated than from English. Native speakers of all other languages which can translate from Polish are very rare. Furthermore, the Polish grammar is different from many common languages, because the ending is declinated and no definite articles are used. This would cause many interlingual and intralingual problems if Polish would be used as source language. Beside this it would be very complicated to translate Polish idions into other languages. e.g. most English idioms, jokes and phrases are well known to translators, but Polish idioms are unknown in the rest of the world. I could now continue with homonymes and homophones, false friends and other lingual problems, but I think the explanation so far makes totally clear, why we develop in English and not in Polish."
"Just for clarification - The dev team writes the dialogues in English - this "Polish" English goes to our American writers for corrections and to be brushed up (I intentional did not write "Polished") - when the text is final we give it to all other translators e,g, German. Making a Polish version, simply means we have to give the English text to Polish translators. Here is simply the question if the costs for such a translation can be recouped. The pure text translation would cost around 50.000 PLN for the CoT DLC - or otherwise said. 10.000 units have to be sold in Polish just to recoupe the costs - or better said, if there is a Polish version we make no money on the first 10.000 units sold in Poland. This makes it very unlikely that there will be a Polish version. Maybe it sounds impudent for you, but the developers cannot work for free."
- The German voice actor for the Hero will reprise his role. They're unsure if the English actors from TWII and PotFF will return. EDIT 5: There are new voice actors for The Hero and Dar Pha.
- Linux, Windows, and Mac versions will all release on the same day.
- Two Worlds II HD will be released on Xbox One. A PS4 release is uncertain.
- It is up in the air whether or not old saves will be compatible with the new update.
- [Will they bring back the heavy armor catagory or the lizard horses or the multiple element damage crystals from the first game? I kinda miss those a lot.]
"we are cuurently keeping an eye on it."
- Raidor on his employer: "there is a lot of crap that can be found in the interrnet. I work for TopWare Interactive - AC Enterprises e.K. - this company also owns Reality Pump Studios and the IPs Two Worlds, Earth 21xx, Gorrky 17, Knights and Merchants and many more."
