Im Prinzip war meine Frage, ob ich eine Live Version in eine vollerwertige Installation umwandeln(=überschreiben) kann, da ich nur zwei Datenträger hatte. Einen, mit meinen aktuellen Daten plus einer fehlerhaften Distribution, welche aber mittlerweile recht langsam ist und eine unbeschriebene modernere HDD. Ich wollte auf dieser neuen HDD quasi ein live-system haben und dieses entweder in eine normale Installation umwandeln respektive ein live system installieren und gleichzeitig auf einer weiteren Partition meine Daten darauf sichern.
Mittlerweile bin ich von dieser Idee abgekommen und habe ich mir für 60€ auch folgende angeblich fast unbenutzte, aber alte Samsung SSD besorgt:

Da ich zwei der drei Festplatten nicht einsehen kann und grade (man vergebe es mir) zu faul bin zu gucken, was genau falsch laeuft, versuche ich mal ein BIOS update unter windows.
Die SSD wird ab und zu ohne Meldung nicht mehr erkann, d.h. wird ploetzlich nichtmehr gefunden. Auch bezueglich dessen versuche es es mal so. Ich bete ja, dass die SSD nicht defekt ist.
Inzwischen ist mein Plan ein Anderer: auf die SSD kommt ein lauffähiges Linux Mint 19. Auf der externen HDD meine Backupdaten. Die SSD wird anstelle der aktuellen alten HDD eingebaut (Videos dazu habe ich mir schon angesehen). Bis ich einen neuen Laptop habe, werde ich die alte HDD formatieren und als /home Verzeichnis nutzen. Falls es mir geligt lagere ich das /var Verzeichnis ebenfalls auf die HDD aus. Wichtige Daten von der externen neuen HDD werde ich ins neue /home Verzeichnis kopieren.
bin ich auf Grub2/ISOBoot gestoßen und hatte semimäßig Erfolg. Eine auf der internen HDD liegende LinuxMint19-x64.iso-Datei habe ich in den RAM geladen und auf die externe Festplatte installiert. Leider ist die Installation buggy und bei der Installation wurde Grub statt auf die Interne zu Teilen auf beide geschrieben.
Es gibt nochimmer ein Problem durch einen Versuch grub zurückzusetzen, aber ich denke so wie es aktuell aussieht, kann ich damit leben, solange ich keinen nicht funktionierenden booteintrag wähle.

Edit:--> Nachdem ich das BIOS geupdatet habe, konnte ich die beiden externen Festplatten messen.
Erwähnenswert wäre eventuell, dass die sample size immer 65.0 MiB betrug.
