With rumours circulating that the mass effect franchise has been put "on ice", there are concerns that we will never see the loose threads left in Andromeda answered.
It is clear that there probably were plans for a single-player story DLC - but they may have been cancelled.
This is our movement to show that we would support a single-player story DLC and would actually purchase one.
Our aims are clear. We simply would like:
1) The answers Bioware wished to give us to the questions left in Andromeda
2) A way to show our support for the work they've done so far anyway
3) A chance for Bioware to finish the story they wanted to tell us.
Please note we are not demanding content or are saying we are entitled to it. Just that there is a large number of people who are hungry and eager for a DLC to be finished.
Regardless of how people felt about Andromeda, to leave unanswered questions behind would be extremely disappointing. We are politely asking EA and Bioware to continue with initial DLC plans because we are ready and willing to experience it.
This is our organisation thread where we can brainstorm further ideas. It isnt just BSNers who would like a DLC, but beyond.
Why #SavetheQuarians?
- We've chosen this hashtag as we believe the first story DLC would have centered around the quarians anyway. There has been numerous hints from the epilogue, to an upcoming book, to the APEX mission.
SUGGESTIONS:
1) Cupcakes: this worked extremely well for the #holdtheline movement during ME3's fiasco. It may be cheesy, but its an effective way of showing our support because its physical proof. The issue with this is that Montreal may have been "gutted" - who do we send these to?
2) Reaching out: This has to go beyond BSN. I suggest 'ambassadors' of sorts to test the waters on the Mass Effect Reddit, tumblr, and other sites to bring us all together. The more people get involved, the more likely we'll be successful.
3) Petition?: I am lukewarm about this because petitions are a dime a dozen these days - but its a very easy way of showing the numbers of support. We should decide on one petition and link everyone to that?
Feel free to suggest more ideas, say something you feel is important, or just add in your voice of support.
If it fails, then at least we've shown our appreciation for the time put into the game.
Lets #SavetheQuarians!
