Generell noch eine Frage an die Runde: Hat hier irgendeiner noch alle 1-3 Installationsdateien, damit man Gothic Total War wieder installieren kann? Die orginalen Files von Gothic TW auf totalwarforum sind leider alle Down. Aber gottseidank habe ich den Gothic TW FIX noch sicher.

Auf infracta.de (Forum / Seite eines Modder-Teams) wird es noch in 4 Teilen zum Download angeboten. Kann sein das eine Registration nötig ist, damit man es herunterladen kann.

Does anyone have a working google docs link? The older links are dead.

I have a similar problem. It seems two of the 4 zip files which are downloadable at infracta are broken. I can't unzip them.
It would be great if someone would reupload those file (or the one big file which was uploaded to Google some years ago, I never had a problem with this installer).

Ist echt schade, dass man diese grandiose Mod aktuell nicht installiert bekommt. Wäre echt cool, wenn sie irgendwo gereuploaded würde.

I just tested the infracta files, they and the installer they contain run without issue for me. Have you tried extracting into an empty/non-existing directory, so that the installer can't get messed up by any already existing files or somesuch? Does the GothicTW.exe installer have one of the following checksums:

You have to select all four zip files at once, then unzip them together. This four-part download is one archive file broken up into 4 parts so that each file is less than 1 GB in size, but they're not full archives themselves, some of them just store the compressed data to be decrypted by using the "dictionary" in a different file. So the extracting program has to know what's in the other files to correctly decipher the "middle" ones.

Thank you very much! It worked. If you try it with the right-click-menu it doesn't work. It still only unpacks a single file. Even if you selected all four parts. You have to go into the 7zip file manger select all four parts and press the extract button (blue minus). Don't use any right-menu-buttons, they don't work correctly, at least with my 7zip version.

Danke nochmal, direkt ein paar Stunden mit den Söldnern gespielt, tolle Mod!

Anscheinend sind einige Downloadquellen im Laufe der Jahre verschwunden. Also bevor die Mod ganz verschwindet, ist sie zumindest hier noch erhältlich.

Habe gerade gelesen das es zu Total War Medieval 2 eine Githic mod gibt, ich besitze das Spiel nicht und wollte mich mal über den Umfang erkundigen. Ist es vom Umfang wert Medieval 2 zu kaufen für die mod oder ist sie eher was für nur ein paar stunden? Kennt sich da einer aus der die mod schon gespielt hat?

Da werde ich ganz nostalgisch und etwas traurig, was hätte sein können, wenn ich das Video so sehe. Es war noch so viel geplant und vieles, wie die RPG-Elemente mit den Abenteurern, sind als Baustellen im Spiel bzw. in den Skripten zu finden.
Leider war ab 2011 der Großteil des Teams nicht mehr wirklich aktiv und es ist bei dieser unfertigen Version geblieben.

So lange du Medieval 2 und die Expansion Kingdoms hast, sollte es funktionieren.

Auf Steam wird Medieval 2 nicht ohne das Addon Kingdoms verkauft. Für Medieval 2 gibts auch keine DLCs.


Wer übrigens noch ein Retail M2TW hat, kann den CD-Key bei Steam eingeben, und erhält dann die Gold Edition - oder wie sie seit ein paar Jahren heißt: Definitive Edition. Ist eines der wenigen Spielen bei der, der CD-Key der Retail-Version bei Steam akzeptiert wird. Ein weiteres ist Rome 1, auch da bekommt man dann die Gold Edition (also mit Barbarian Invasion und AlexanderTW)
