after installing the update which should add the dodge and stuff, my game crashes on startup, after the splash screen; sometimes it just freezes on a black screen, sometimes it quits
i have tried installing all the redistributables and erasing my savegames, and reinstalling but nothing works so far... any ideas?

Maybe one of these could help ?
- check that your drivers are up to date
- disable all background programs (e.g. virus checker)
- set your sound card to 6 channels instead of 8
- right click on the game in the Steam interface > properties > Local files > verify integrity of game cache ...
- suppression of .blob
- run these installers and reboot the computer afterward:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\risen 2\redist\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\risen 2\redist\PhysX\PhysX_SystemSoftware.exe
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\risen 2\redist\VCRedist\vcredist_x86.exe
(your Steam path may be different)
(N.B. in the worse cases, you might have to un-install manually before to re-install) - try to launch the game directly from Risen2.exe:
1. Launch steam.
2. Launch file - "...\Steam\steamapps\common\risen2\system\risen2.exe"
Good luck !
