When playing the game, after a random time period (could be 10 minutes, could be 2 hours), the game either freezes and doesn't respond to any command and I have to close it by bringing up the task manager, or crashes and I get the Where is the guru? window, showing about 93% memory use and about 3gigs of free virtual memory/page file. Not only that, but when loading a game, also at random, I get a "Genome Gaming System has stopped working" error.
-disable DEP
-delete/replace gothic3.tff
-defragment the drive/get latest drivers and such
-teleport often to clear RAM or whatever it is it's doing

but to no avail. I'm using the Steam version + latest CP, ATI fix enabled. Specs that might be important:
Windows 7 32bit
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD5770, 1gb vram
AMD Phenom X4 B55 (unlocked from X2 555)

I don't exactly know what the problem is, but I have seen in other threads that ppl who have the Steam version have problems as well, proly the same.

So, the 'why' is solved.
the 'how to fix it?' idk, if I recall correctly it can't be fixed, i.e. There isn't any solution yet. Plz correct me if I'm wrong.
I definately want to be wrong at that last point.

I have the exact same problem and I don't have the steam version. I have the normal dvd retail version. I created a thread about this a few months back but my problem never got solved.

Lowering the settings seems to have stabilized the game somehow. Guess I'll have to live with that.
