Hello Folks. I love Gothic but not right now. I have recently purchased Gothic 2 Gold DVD Rom. I beat it with mage but it was so difficult until much later. It was fun but I want to keep playing it. I heard about the NOTR customizer which could change some of the settings. I downloaded it and made the changes and this is what I got.

Gothic. Dat could not be opened for write access. Please check installation directory. I believe that I have checked this but it still says the same thing. Please help.

Are you sure you have it set up properly? The location of notr should say something like this: "C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II"

If the problem persists, check to see if the Gothic.Dat file is actually in its right place (C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\system), for you may have moved it somewhere else by accident if you tried backing it up.
