In chapters 1 & 2 there's a quest called Forbidden Pasture. It's the one where you help the sheep herder from Sekob's farm get permission to bring his sheep to Bengar's pastures. As I understand it, this quest is typically resolved by first doing Bengar a favor by driving away the militia that's bothering him, and then asking for a favor in return.

There's a problem, however. I'm playing as a mercenary, and Torlof did give me the quest to kill the militiamen, however this time I decided I wanted to see what it'd be like to take Cord up on his offer to help me. So, instead of doing the militiaman quest, I went to see Dexter about the missing mercenary, and joined the Mercenary faction that way. Although the militiamen still appeared on Bengar's farm, and although I've killed them, I still can't ask Bengar for a favor though. So, the Forbidden Pastures quest remains unresolved.

How do I solve the Forbidden Pastures quest at this point? I've exhausted all dialogue options with Bengar and the two sheep herders. Can't remember or find alternate ways to solve that quest.

The option will appear bit further in the game out of nowhere at some point as far as I can remember. Which is good...later you on you get more xp.

I did what you did and I'm currently in chapter 5 and I have no dialogue option to ask Bengar about it. It's just a glitch which hasn't resolved itself for me. Maybe you'll get lucky.

I think that you lost time to finish this quest because it will be canceled as outdated (LOG_OBSOLETE) if hero not belonging to neutrals (GIL_NONE), mercenaries (GIL_SLD) or dragon hunters (GIL_DJG).

Is not a glitch , you have 2 options to solve this:
First drive away the mitlita from his pasture
Second if you are a milita or mage (so you can't drive away militia) there is an option on Bengar about a guy who dissapeard from his farm then just go to Dexter and ask about this guy and tell Benagar about it.
So , basically if you took Cord's favor , i don't think you can do this quest anymore or later this dialog might appear...

No, don't you mean in Chapter 3 when Malak and the farmers dissappear and you need to find him UNDER Dexter's watchtower, get him back, and THEN the dialog might appear?...Yeah.

here are the requirements for the dialogue

Strange , i have the same problem , i told this because that's Bengar wants ... i though i'm the only who can't ask him about pardos...

No you're wrong, you CAN ask Dexter about Pardos (Cord's mercenary right?) and he'll say that he remember's somebody, but he is no longer here and that he's far away in the East now. yeah.

you got them mixed up
pardos is not cord's mercenary, he is bengar's farmhand

Yep, I confused they'r names...well after I finish Gothic 3 with 1.75 I'll go back to Gothic 2, a 6 mounth rest is enough. My pardon for the mistake.
