Problems installing G1
Hello!
I played G1 and G2 long time ago, and recently buy Gothic Universe, hoping to use the savegames I still have in a HD, but when I try to install G1, after some instalation, it ask me for the CD2, when the game case only have 3 disks, one for each game (1,2 and 3).
First, I tried to install it in D:, and the second time I tried, in the default folder, but it didn´t work.
I tried to use G2 CD, but it also didn´t work.
Any idea of how I can solve it? Thanks!
PD: I have a laptop with W7.

Apprentice
did you browse the first cd maybe its in there

Have you tried just clicking "next" when the message appears? I also have the DVD version of Gothic 1, and though putting it on a DVD, they didn't bother changing the install application, so it still asks for the second CD, which is in fact included on the DVD

Hi!
Thanks you all.
Yes, I just simply pres continue, but nothing happens.
Also try to start manually the install, clicking setup but it happens the same, and ask me for the 2nd disk.
Finally I tried to copy all files to the HD and install from there, but... also nothing... .
I´m going to extract the cab files and try it again...
Help me Obi Wan Kennobi. You´re my only hope... ops, that´s not here...xD

Well. That last thing seemed to work, and I could install it.
Then installed the 1.08k patch.
Then tried to run it, and have an Access Violation.
I think I´m going to give up...

It can be a nightmare to run G1 on W7, I know something about that just try to google it, you should be able to find the solution, it's a fairly common problem
And DON'T GIVE UP! One of the best games ever is almost at your reach! Just lean a bit more and grab it!
... it won't let go, though. You have been warned.
